I find that the rayon works better at higher power levels than cotton or silica. If the power is too low you can get crazy nicotine, but not much vapor and little flavor.

While rayon is "man-made" it's actually pure cellulose with a micro-structure that makes it wick like crazy. The fact that it's man-made doesn't mean it's a bad thing. (VG, PG, and PGA are also "man-made" materials).

It takes higher power no problem. That's the first thing you'll find you need more power because it wicks so well. It's all about the right density and checking the wick after a while to see how it turned out. Listen for a squeak in your coils this signifies your in range of the proper density. Watch for it being loose after a few hours. If it is your density was too low. Rayon is opposite of cotton I. That it shrinks down instead of expanding like cotton.

I can run them at 20w for 80ml -100ml easily in a dripper. And still no significant gunking.

I just posted a link to the wick at 80ml and two videos in the rayon thread.

jeremyR yup i saw your post on rayon that's why i joined this forum thank you. what i noticed on organic cotton i get dry/ cotton hits a lot, so figured thin out the cotton did that same problem. then i widened/ deepened the juice channel on my kayfun clone, it helped a bit , but meghhh..... hopped on the ole inter-web for wicking material and saw pbusardo youtube vid on his wickkng material test. saw that the ... cotton kojendo was the shiznit on absorption, looked for that product and holy mother of mooses :vapor:$$$$$$$ expensive. rayon was the alternative.

As long as it says 100% rayon your good. They do make a 40ft box it's just harder to find.. Id say *score* if you got one locally. What was it 5.00.

His wick tests went a real world test. Rayon is the bomb. Kgd doesn't last 100ml without maintenance. That I can guarantee. There's just no comparison to a man made nano tech fiber. The end product is pure regenerated cellulose.

Let us know how you get along with it. It's a little trial and error to get the density but not bad.

yeah 5$ Canadian so about 3$ us... did my first rayon wick on my dual vertical coil fogger 4.1, holy .... did i screw that up thought it was wicking well until i got a burning nasty throat hit. so i figured i used too much rayon, just did my second re-wick just used less rayon well its okay but holly tasty-ness yummy omg you can taste the french vanilla on the 5 pawns queenside...... just giving it a 24hr soak hopefully that will do the trick. by the way fogger 4.1 is A ..... to build a coil on and wick, i'm just a sucker for dual coil RTA:(

as long is it has liquid to wick, and can adequately supply the juice demanded from the build, it's all good. Basic thermal dynamics of liquids, and all that rot, but if vaped dry, it will tend to like POOF, POP, incinerated, if like vaping at 75 watts or so, and insist on continuing to fire mod. Time to rewick, when that happens, that is. or something like that.

it's always our pleasure pegas. Most things do with wicking is play with it till it's right, if more doesn't work try less, and densities must be both checked through, around and/or under the coil as well as through the juice port, down to the deck, all depending on the particular rba, dripper, tank system one is running. Issus at either or both ends can cause the same symptoms. So sometimes it's fiddle de, and sometimes tis fiddle dum. or something like that:D
