Thanks everyone!!! You've got me focused on things to research more. I think I will read a bit more and purchase a kayfun today.

Here's a kayfun v3.1, for a whopping $15.99!

If you want to dip your toe in the water, pick this one up. I just ordered one for myself.

Inexpensive way to try RBA's, and then you can always spend more $$$ on other options.

People who have this version of the kayfun rave about it!

Things to look at on a dripper:
1: the posts; better to have a hole you put the wire through and not where you wrap round and the wire turns when you try to screw down.

My understanding is, this version of the Kayfun does have holes in the posts, FYI.

Good luck!

I can't thank you all enough for your help. Sad story, got busy last night and didn't pull the trigger.

Wondering though .. with the Kayfun. Is the plastic tank not a problem?

I my opinion yes, but there is a glass tank option:

In never ordered a kayfun myself; I ordered a fogger because of the glass tank issue. And because of the 510 drip tip issue.
But glass tanks for the kayfun have since become available.

If you get a kayfun, again, I would strongly advise against it, not that it sucks just that it's not as good as the Fv4, the best kf is the kayfun Lite plus, that's the one you want, definitely not the 3.1, if you get a clone of all probably come with a metal tank section so juices that crack tanks, lots of fruity juices as well as other assorted juices crack plastic, can be used, the problem with this is that you won't be able to see your juice level. Even tho I judge the amount of juice I've used by battery life, a good practice to learn, having a glass tank is the way to go. Also be careful about what version, model, manufacturer, of kf and make sure people have used that quarts kit and not had problems, I've heard good and lots of bad about the quarts kits, especially the cheap ones from fasttech n rainbow heaven, real quartz kits cost upwards of 50 bucks last time I checked. Just a little insight. Hope it helps.

I just ordered an EHPRO Kayfun 3.1. This will be my first Kayfun.

I also ordered the air flow cap for my Genesis RSST. I drilled the hole out to 1/16" and then used a 5/64" bit to chamfer the hole with a bevel to prevent whistling and the bit popped through on the first turn.

After that, it was like sucking through a straw!

So, some like the Kayfun 3.1 and others like something better. We'll see how it works.

Provari, REO, then clone???

I just bought my first RBA, I'm a little over a week in and am confident in my skills with the coils and wicking with THIS RBA now. Have had a great experience learning. Was working well the first day and I've improved from there. One thing I like is that I'm not tinkering with a shotty device. I don't mind spending if the quality is there, and you see that pay back with your provari.

Erlkonigin

Super high quality. Is working fabulous. Smaller than a Taifun with more capacity. Fabulous original design; improvement upon the kayfuns. Straight forward single coil build. Haven't been having issues with flooding or dry hits randomly (had some dry hits learning how to wick that's on me, I caused a flood by filling wrong, that's on me), point is the device isn't the issue. At this point I can chain vape with no dry hits, can't say that about the nautilus or aerotank. There's clones where you're drilling things out just to get the pressure balance right. Sure, toss a 30 buck gadget to the side and not feel too bad about it, but when you buy quality you likely won't toss to the side, and if you do the resell value is there. I'm not craiglisting or classifieds for the used value on a 30 buck gadget.

Pricey but I'm very pleased with the elf queen and will never regret that buy. Have a viking RDA on the way. Not a fan of clones for me, they have their place for some, but I say save and buy authentic quality, it always pays in the long run IMO. "But that junk only costs a few pennies" LOL

EDIT: But if you are going lower end china product then Fogger

Another vote for the Reo LP Grand with an RM2 atomizer. I got my first one almost a month ago and haven't touched my other mods since. Just got Reo #2 a couple of days ago. Coming from a hardcore dripper here.

What atty do you recommend for a bottom feeder? I would like to try one —although I might end manufacturing it myself with the new global ban on ecigs in Mexico. Right now I have an Erlkönigin sequestered at customs in Guadalajara; will have to send it to a friend in the US who travels each year to Puerto Vallarta but I won't get it till the end of the year! :(

Anyway, I think I can probably get a squaper across customs labeled as battery holder or electronic component (I doubt they would disassembly it to look inside), so this leads to another question: is there a reasonable priced (under $100) bottom feeder that can be readily purchased? Most seem to be stratospherycally priced with some over 200€ (!!!) and with a long waiting list.

Well guys, I bought an hcigar kayfun clone last night. My main purpose here is to just learn to build a coil and see how I like it and if I'll keep up with it. I've never even taken a hit off an RBA, so I don't even know what I don't know right now! Then I'm more likely to put my money toward something bigger / better when I get the itch. I started with Vision spinner knockoffs and once I knew vaping would stick I upgraded to a Provari and donated the spinners to a couple friends =) I guess that's just how I roll.
Still getting the REO and RM2 next month.

Now to get the rest of thesupplies I need. I bough that nifty coil winder off amazon. Think I'll go with organic cotton wick that I'll grab at CVS. So, I just need a few more things. Thank you all for your help, again!! I'm excited about this.
