Very strange... I have heard of others having troubles with the 900mA Tenergy Batts. I have 12 of the 750s and have had no troubles with them at all. I use them in both the Prodigy and the Silver bullet. I always take readings before and after use and they always read pretty close to the same.
I think I would try a new charger. That seems like the only common thing for your batteries... You may be getting good readings but the rate of charge may be different for some reason. This sounds like a very frustrating problem and I will be watching this thread for updates.
Good luck to both of you...

Well, you guys seem to have a mystery on your hands. I have only been using a dual battery pv for a few weeks but something doesn't make cents. There has to be some logic in here somewhere.

Hey kevin
when your batteries wear out...do you measure them?
Are they both flat ?
Or is one more charged than the other?

Do they drain progressively? Or vapor production stops all of a sudden?

I have been monitoring them. Almost every time the LiFiPO4's are usually around 2.2 to 2.4 +/- .02v (which is lower that the specs state.) The Li-Ions are usually at 0v or if i swap them early they are pretty close to the same voltage, 3.3 or so. I'll have to watch the LiFiPO4's because they aren't supposed to discharge below 2.4. The specs on that chemistry states that the batteries will shut off around 2.5 to 2.4 due to the chemistry. If they go below 2.4 they will become damaged.

Your mom said not to say...
Hmm sounds like someone at these mod garages has a project on their hands. I am willing to go out on limb and say it must have something to do with the way they are being used. These are photo batteries for the most part, designed to do short burst of power lasting less than a second at a time. I don't think they were designed for the type of power drain vaping puts on them, I also think that them being in series has something to do with it, I would suggest doing a side by side comparison of series and parallel circuit. One other thing I would suggest is that while the CR123's are a bit too high for vaping, slapping a resistor in the circuit can cut that voltage to a optimum voltage. A simple variable resistor that one could adjust would be sweet.

From Battery Junction (for the UltraFire 18650, but probably applicable to many other standard types):

"These fully protected cells simplify usage with their integrated PCB. Perfect for your single cell application these cells are not for pack building as doing so will defeat the PCB protection which is matched to the correct voltage on a single cell. If you are building a pack please choose one of our other cells and the appropriate PCB."

Perhaps therein lies the problem with single cell draining in multi-batt applications.

Jeff said to use the CRr123 3.0v in the Chuck or the 18650.
I have ordered both for the Chuck. Still waiting.

As far as the CR2 3.0v - they suck big time!

Quo - forgive me for asking - can they make one 6.0v??

AFAIK, there is no such thing as a 6.0V lithium battery, at least not in a single cell. The chemistry of lithium batteries results in single cells that are 3.0V to 3.7V, or thereabouts. You could build a 6.0V battery pack using 2 cr123a sized 3.0V cells, but there is no guarantee that it would behave any differently than the 2 cells you are using now. I haven't looked for one, but if a PCB is available for such a battery pack, that might improve performance as well as give you a protected battery. You'd have to build or modify a charger for it, too, since single cell chargers wouldn't work.

Oh great, I just ordered a Super T that uses those batteries! So is it true what highping asked on the first page, whether she could expect to get only one hour of vaping out of these 6V batteries? Can somebody answer that?

I use CR2's and I get about 4 hours on a set. They arent that bad. They are cheap batteries. Just buy 10 sets. I guess its the price we pay for 6 volts.. :) They vary on length of time they last. As they get older not as much time.

Got 4 of these Tenergy bats. Have never worked since the day I got them. Full charge. Once in a while, a pair will work for 1-1.5 secs then cut out. Will only do this much 1/10 times. The other 9/10 times absolutely nothing.

Had no problems with the CR2s until my magnum mod took a 2 foot drop onto my hardwood floor, atty down breaking the damn connection loose.

I bet if we remove the pcb form these troublesome rcr123 batteries they would work. It has to be a touchy trip protection. As i have had the same issue with the batteries powering the atty for 1 - 2 seconds and then cutting off. I can release the button and do it again for 1- 2 seconds. The pcb is protecting the batt from to much current output or something

I think (not sure) that the super T has a resistor to drop to 5V. If that's the case the performance may be better. (it's HE BTW)

Yeah
the stacking seems to be a problem.
I will ask the factory in China to make one 6 volt.
It's all the fault of the Chinese!!! I hope you realize! Lol!

Has anyone tried modding with this...

6V 3500mAh NiMH Rechargeable Battery Pack for Maglite MagCharger, Streamlight SL20, SL20S & SL20X
(it kinda looks like 4x 1.5V shrinkwrapped together)

Id second that. Why wont someone make a 6v? That would solve all our problems..
Maybe if enough of us ask the chinese/?

How about this...

Hey Quo, maybe you can get Jeff to make you one of those mailbox covers for it, (and a little handtruck to hull it around with):D
