Okay. The building is fine, but it's a tad tight for me too. I am still trying to find my sweet spot.

Nah, bu maybe I shoulda? Just kinda spinning from all these other purchases. You?
Yeah I got them. I figured there was many to be had so I didn't have to fight to get to them, if it were different and limited I might not of tried.

I just did too. Don't even know how much I care about ultem, but with such a product I highly doubt I would have to worry about the money being lost. I think I need a break from spending though--it's getting out of hand.

NOT sure I really am caring for the location of the top coil mount hole. Crazy long legs if I try to build the coil to stay in front of that air hole, and MAJOR hot leg problem, built thusly. Tips? Tricks?

Here's how I recommend building it:

1. Wrap your coils with the leads going in opposite directions and 90 degrees apart (try x.75 wraps; x.5 wraps gives you leads that are parallel to each other in the same direction like you would do on a 3-post deck, x.75 wraps will give you leads 90 degrees apart).

2. Bend one lead upwards about 45-60 degrees using needle nose pliers or tweezers

3. Stick that bent lead through the positive post block (P.S. I've found the lowest gauge wire you can use is 22g, 21g might work but 20g will not).

4. With the coil still on the screwdriver, stick the tip of the screwdriver into the divot at the bottom of the deck to position the coil.

5. Wrap the negative lead behind and around the negative screw and fasten it down.

You're current status: You now have the negative lead tightened down, the screwdriver mounted into the divot in the bottom of the deck and the positive lead is in the positive block but not tightened yet.

6. Take a really small flat head screwdriver (I like to use a 1.4mm but any small flat head should work) and push down on the top wrap of the coil a little. This will tighten that positive lead a little and move the coil down slightly. Then push from the bottom wrap of the coil upwards a little. You want the bottom of the coil aligned with the bottom of the air hole (not slightly above like you would on almost all side air flow atomizers). One more time, push the top wrap of the coil down to re-tighten the positive lead and while you are doing that, bend the excess positive lead that is through the positive block to keep it in place.

7. Take your screwdriver out and tighten the positive block.

8. The last thing is to fiddle with the coil placement a little more; I like to get the coil to sit pretty much inside that hole. If you use a 3mm ID and your coil is as long as the air hole diameter, the coil should be able to fit slightly inside that hole without it shorting out. This can be a little tricky and you will most likely short out a coil or two in the process but once you get it, the flavor will be awesome.

I know this thing isn't the easiest to build the first few times you do it but trust me, it gets way easier. To put it in perspective, I've had my veritas for about 3 months longer than the ology; the veritas still takes me 25-30 minutes to put a dual vertical in it and the ology only takes me 15-20 minutes.

If anyone has any questions, please ask me; I've been with this thing for a while now and know most (if not all) of its quirks.

Yeah I thought the same thing and I normally don't buy add ons for rda's but I don't see me getting rid of this one anytime soon if at all so I don't mind investing in that. But on the other hand this month for me is bad so I do need to stop myself lol and I haven't hardly bought anything......I should buy myself something now for having such restraint!!! Haha..

I'm going through Aeolus withdrawal. I left my IPv4 and Aeolus v2 in my friends car Friday night after quite a few drinks and have been forced to go back into my inventory and use my derringer. Meh. I would build my vector but since I wasn't using it I took the grub screws out and put them in the Aeolus lol. Gah I need it all back. He lives an hour from me and I've been working 12 hour shifts so idk when I can get it back.

I feel your pain. (Well, not really but, I can relate... lots of us can)... There's an old saying I picked-up somewhere along the line... I don't know whom to give credit to but it always stuck. And I live by it where I can... Applies to some of our EDC gear that holds a 'special' value to us...

One=None, Two=One... or (I'll translate)... 1=0, 2=1 - Get it ??? :) Hope you get your Aeolus back soon.

Is it an authentic? Cool if it is. (Hate to say this but), You're in a place where a good clone would come in handy.

WOW! Thank you SO much for the VERY detailed instructions! I did do it VERY close to your description, luckily. I rewicked it tonite after a dry burn, and oddly, both positive hot legs have disappeared, and the coil fires VERY nicely from center outwards. I took the opportunity to give em a little squeeze too, and tighten the wraps a bit. NOICE.

Using 28ga 317L SS, 10 wraps each side I am at .6ohms which is in range for proper temp control, but for whatever reason, on an Xcube2, 200F is producing plenty of vapor? Not hot, but... thats not even the boiling point of water! Hrm.. And then occasionally it'll jump back into temp mode. Having LOTS of problems with dual Ti and SS coils in temp mode on this, Petri, AND stumpy. Also doesn't seem to matter if I am firing with Xcube2, Cloupor Mini or IPV4s. Gotta research that a bit. Both materials work GREAT in temp control on a KFL, so I have to assume it is the duals.

Flavor IS quite good, but a bit more air flow would be a plus. Maybe I'll get out my handy dandy drill motor this weekend, and perform a little bit of modification.

Thank you, @kformeck again, MUCH appreciated!

Well luckily it's a tobeco clone so it's not a huge chunk of money sitting out there. Maybe after this Christmas spending thing goes away I can justify investing in an authentic. They did release the rose gold not too long ago

Also, I dug deeper in my collection and found my angelcigs hobo v3 clone that I never had luck with. It still had a good fused Clapton in it so tomorrow morning when I rewick I will give it another go lol. It's a horrible quality clone with the screw on barrel so it's a pain in the dick to rebuild and rewick, but hopefully it'll do the trick til this weekend if I can squeeze some time in to get my baby back.

I'm not advocating clones, but well... ya gotta do, what ya gotta do. If the real deal's out of reach; whether it's too expensive or just not available because of limited production, (short) supply & (high) demand. Damn, buy the clone. A lot of good ones are cheap enough. I'm pretty new to dripping, but head over heels in love with it. Had some fine tanks but (for me), they don't hold a candle to a good RDA. Sellin' my tanks and keeping a few RDA's. That's the ticket! Everyone, everyone, who has a mind to, should own a Tobeco Velocity, if... for whatever reason they can't get their hands on an original. Amazing for a lot of reasons and dirt cheap.

Got my Hobo V3.1 in and built as well. Really enjoying it. Despite being airier than the NarDA, it still puts out a good amount of flavor. I think it, the NarDA and the Snapdragon will be the only drippers in my rotation for a long time. Plan on buying multiples of the NarDA and the Hobo.

I knew you would like it, your rotation is almost identical to mine. Minus the snapdragon, I have the shado atty in its place (MGNT Atty). Those are really the only 3 I use, sometimes the indestructible too but it's getting phased out lately by better stuff.

Yep, you were absolutely right. Great little atty. Running Screwbacco in it right now and while it's not quite the punch-in-the-tongue flavor of the NarDA, it's still tasty.

Oh my god you have screwbacco?! I've been dying to try it, how is it? I can't find it anywhere and my local shop doesn't have it either.

It's damn good IMO. Very good strawberry flavor. Not full on real strawberry flavor but not candy-ish either. A nice medium. You get a nice tobacco bite on the exhale. Really tasty. Have a 2nd bottle on the way to me.

Screwbacco

In stock right now

I buy clones based purely on price point. I try to get better quality ones after all the cheap china clone quality issues I've had. In fact, the only authentic RDA I own is the Vector because the price point was within my grasp. If I use something long enough and enjoy it, I will look at investing in the authentic, but if my months of using the Tobeco Aeolus v2 clone shows, the quality on it was good enough to not need to justify the authentic.

I actually just sold my Tobeco Velocity yesterday to a friend. I didn't care for the flavor from it. My preference is for super dense warm flavor, with a very particular draw. It was just too airy and cool of a vape. The only thing I will miss about it is building on two posts. Although, I did see that Tobeco came out with a Velocity Mini recently, I may have to investigate that.
