Thanks, hoog. I was doing it correctly, something just wasn't right with my mod. I was waiting for my multimeter to come in so I could see what the voltage was before vaping. I was thinking maybe I had to do something different because it was VV as I was getting wonky low readings when they should have been higher.

I fiddled around with the on-off switch, back and forth a bunch of times, and it seems okay now... This really vapes like champ!

I hope this is not a sign of problems to come with my unit. I received it on 7-28, but just tried it today. I am 11 days into my warantee period. Do you think it should be sent back for a look-see before my 14 days is up? I really don't want to part with it now, but I don'e want to have issues down the road.

You can use a meter, just put one lead on the outside of the connector, one lead on the center pin of the connector and push the button. Just make sure that the lead going to the center doesn't short out on the side.

Okay, additional info. I was vaping at what read 3.74V with a 2.0 carto for a couple of minutes, steady, but not really chain vaping, and it got so hot between the button and the 510 connection that I couldn't hold it in my hand. BTW, I'm using brand new freshly charged 14500 protected Trustfire flames.

I waited a few seconds and took the back of the case off. The glue was so hot that it stuck to my finger when I touched it(I know I shouldn't have touched it). The case has melted a tiny bit right between the button and the 510 connection. This is my first VV mod, but I am pretty sure this is not normal.

The voltage regulator in your VV Box Mod can get pretty hot, especially if your running it at lower voltages. Any excess energy is converted into heat energy. If you crank it up a bit, it won't run as hot. I'm not the best person to explain the inner workings of a voltage regulator but that's the gist of it.

There's a thread somewhere in the reviews section where that gets mentioned and discussed at some length. Several people reported a very small melt spot on the box appearing after a short while of vaping. None of them decided it was detrimental to the function of the mod and none of them reported that the spot ever got bigger.
