I'm wanting to try some of this, but I'm wondering, for wicks that are 1/2" long, is this stuff limber enough to keep the ends touching the deck of the rda?

No, it's not; it doesn't really droop at all. I cut mine off short -- right at the outside edge of the posts just like I did with cotton and bamboo. They didn't always touch the deck either. When I squonk, I saturate the wick and the whole coil, so it doesn't seem to matter that it doesn't touch the deck. In fact, if my wicks touch the desk, I run a higher risk of them blocking the drain hole.

This is what I've been concerned with, using a KFL+. I have the 3mm Readyxwick, but can't imagine how the juice will flow through the wick if the ends don't touch the deck.

Has anyone successfully wicked their Kayfun with the ReadyxWick?

almost tackled that tonight but put it off. My kfl+ ver 2 is the one I have yet to get a good set up/vape on. Going to try a figure 8 pointed down. Not sure if I will use the 2 or 3mm. Probably the 2mm as it isn't as stiff.

Well the Kayfun has that nifty little design feature that forces wicks down to the deck ...... Ya know when you jam it down in the chimney with a screwdriver :D

I do not nor will not have a kayfun ever again ...... but I'm sure I could use the ReadyX in it no problem at all.

Ok, thanks. I like to drip thru the DT, without taking everything apart to get right on the coil and wick, so maybe this won't be for me.

No problem .... I like to drip up through the bottom of my atomizer by squeezing my REO bottle AKA Squonking :)

Its so satisfying I still giggle like a girl once and a while and I've been squonking 3.5 years.

My dripper is a Provape-1 and a Igo-s, I have a few Reos with an Igo-s bottom feed, and 3 RM2's. I'm not understanding how, if the wicks are not touching the deck, they are the picking up the juice.
I am trying some silica, size of silica not known, in one RM2. I am using a long enough piece to lay around the deck, but not getting many hits from a squonk off of it, probably due to the wick not being a big enough dia., I'm guessing.
What dia. coil are you using for a 3mm wick?

I use a piece of wick about 1/3" long, about 1-2mm off the deck, the juice comes up through the bottom of the RM2, saturates my wick, extra drains out. From what I was told when I first got my RM2 extra wick just sits on the deck and lets the juice cook. I am using the 2mm ReadyXwick. I also do not compress my coil, it allows the wick to absorb more juice.

Tim:

That's exactly right, and what I did last night after posting my message. I cut off a piece about 1 1/2 inches long, built a fairly loose coil around it, and used the chimney stack to force the ends down. So far it's working great.

Yes it will thread into it after cutting to a point and heating.

Ok cool. Sorry if that was a stupid question, I just started building my own coils. I tried to do this with 2mm silica a couple days ago and it didn't work so I am guessing the fact that the XC-132 doesnt fray as much allows it do be threaded. Thanks.

Made a new coil with 2mm this morning, my first one, I made a micro-coil on a needle, probably a bit bigger than 1/16 because the 2mm wick was barely touching the coil, thus producing hot spots. Made a new one where I built the coil right on the wick, works great up to now, really no taste out of it, just the flavor.

My dual coil on another atomizer's not working properly though, trying the 3mm, how much wraps are needed on both coils? I wrapped around 6 times each coil and I'm at 1.2 ohms but even vaping at 9 watts it's barely producing any vapor. What am I missing?

I can do it with both, when we say thread, it's not like threading a needle but like threading a bolt into a nut. Twist the wick so that the grooves of the coil pull it through. Pay attention to the direction of your coil wraps, if you twist the wick the wrong way it wont work.

I am also interested in advices about.. I will receive some 3mm readyx from the same friend :2cool: and I plan to build a dual coil setup around 1ohm (2 by 2 ohm) @15watts in a Cyclone AFC... do it will work???

I use the 3mm and all I can tell you is 4 wraps of 30g = 1.1 ohms every time and it chucks the vapor.
