Has anyone built a Kraken with ReadyWick? Really curious to see what your builds were like. I just received a Kraken from a giveaway and it's been built with SS mesh and SS rope but I'm not really thrilled with it.

I built my Kraken with 3mm dual coils 1.3 ohms, running at 4.4 volts. It's a fog machine!
You used it over SS rope, right?I think I get how to do it (just use XC-116 the same as you'd use ekowool) but just checking.

I ran the 3mm through the wick holes then put a paper clip in the center and wrapped coils with 32ga, seems to work good for me. It doesn't leak but I do have to tilt frequently, it does go through a lot of juice.View attachment 329511
I'm loving it for flavor. But I had one coil I had to throw away - it was a very tightly wound 29 gauge microcoil (made on the gizmo) and I absolutely could not get it clean, even with multiple dry burnings/rinsings with the wick in there. The wick was obviously too small, because it ended up falling apart when I tried to move it out.
I have two more wicks in RM2s now, both wound by hand on the wick slipped over a 20 gauge needle, 28 and 29 gauge wire. One is an 'ugly' coil - wide spaces, (28 gauge) 1.0 ohm, and the other a true micro coil on 29 gauge (but obviously not squeezed together) at 1.2 or so. The 'ugly' coil is very easy to clean - much more so than the other one. I cut both wicks much longer than I usually do for the RM2 and they seem to wick and behave very well. I have different juice in each, so I can't really tell which one is behaving better![]()
I was trying to clean the coil not the wick. ..no amount of dry burning was doing the job, and the coil was less tham a day old!

That sounds very strange. I've never seen a coil that would not burn the gunk. I'm wondering if you had a loose screw or a broken wire? A functional coil will always burn off what ever is on it.
As far as coils I have still been using the Wire Gizmo. When I'm winding the coil I just make sure the coils are not touching. I transfer my coil onto a 1/16” drill bit and install the coil with the drill bit in the coil. Once I have the coil secured I use the drill bit for tightening and positioning the coil. Then I remove the drill bit and thread my 2 mm Ready-wick into the coil. Once the wick is in place I juice it up and burn it a couple of times. (got that tip from the RBA Supplies website). Then it's good to go.
Mine arrived today - 2mm easy to thread through the 29 gauge micro coil made on the coiling gizmo (just heated the end and screwed it through). Used a tiny piece! Now, what am I going to do with the rest of my time? LOL
Wicking 50/50 beautifully!
Which size mandrel ( mine came with 3 sizes) are you using to wrap with the 2mm wick?
My Reo seems to be hitting harder with this stuff but thats probably just in my noggin.
Yeah I've never seen a pulse that didn't burn off that wasn't underpowered. Very well the cause of the buildup in the first place.
Blu…just noticed, you haven't tried a tension wind yet?
Good luck.
