I only get a few floaters when I cut it and none during month after month of use. Frankly I'm more concerned with the effects of coating my lung with VG and PG year aft year than with this wick.

I do mount, fire and squeeze my coil first. I also run the mandrel back through it. At one point I thought RxW had a break in phase and that it gave me a funky taste for a few rounds of burns, but it turns out that was the kanthal and as soon as started firing it before mounting the wick that went away.

16 gauge blunt tip luer is what I've been using. I cut the taper at about a 45 degree angle with scissors from my leatherman. Get the tip inside then spin and slowly slide it in. Then I cut the long end off. Then I drip juice on it and wait a minute or two.

Here's my coil jig:

I finally got my 2mm into my coil after reading this thread. I was having same problems and then just started winding it into the coil as mentioned and I've been vaping on it since Tuesday :)

Cool. Check back in in Jan when it's time to change it out :)

I dont fire my coils at all - i just blowtorch the wire before i make it.

I used to do that to take the spring out of higher gauge wire, but i don't use that anymore, so now i say i do it if HRH asks, to make sure there's no machine oil on the kanthal.
That's a lie and i really do it because i like flashing the blowtorch around! When it's time to clean the wicks before re-use i'm also quite happy because that's blowtorch time again! :)

I did a build in an AGA-T dual coil about a year ago and it worked quite well. I built the coils first and threaded the wick through the coil down into the tank. If memory serves me correctly I used Nextel 316 which would translate to the thick 3mm RxW. It wicked quite well but I still had to do a little genisis tilt, though not nearly as much as when using SS mesh or cable.

I think one of the nicknames for this method is called the "Tribble". :)

Sent while slacking out and about.

I've been using 3mm in my Kraken for months, it works very well. I ran the RXW first, then inserted a paper clip and wrapped an ugly coil.

Interesting, I just wrapped a 7/64 coil horizontal but it doesn't look like the 3mm wick will fit through the base holes. So, I was thinking I should use a smaller ciol and order some 2mm.

I'm wondering if this would work well with genesis style attys that I struggle with using cotton. Should work great right? I'm going to order some more 3mm and 2mm this time and give a try.

The 3mm works fantastic in gennys ..... that what I originally ordered it for back before this thread started. A day after I put it in a genny I thought dammmm I have to get this stuff going on my REOs.

EDIT: I see you must have a genny with smaller wick holes .... my 3mm has plenty of room in my Zens once i pull out that stupid insulator.
