These VG flavors need to be mixed high from everything I read. I am new to DIY so I look to the reviews on MFG site and recipe sites to see what others recommend for new flavors and go from there. For Bread Pudding I found this:

Real Flavors recommend 5% - 7%
Bread Pudding

But from the recipe site I found this:

Percentages in recipes
Average mixing quantity: 10.4% (Median: 12%)
Minimum used quantity: 0.8%
Maximum used quantity: 20%

Single flavor recommendations: 11
Average quantity: 11.7% (Median: 12.0%)
Minimum used quantity: 10.0%
Maximum used quantity: 15.0%
I saw that & mixed mine max. I can dilute easier than making it stronger.

Agreed. I keep unflavored base on hand for mixing testers, diluting stuff that is too strong, for vaping on a dripper to clear a testing flavor, etc.

I made some impromptu RF flavor mixes/recipes from my partial tester bottles:

Real Flavors Apple Pie x Aged Bourbon Cream. Had <15ml of each left from the 20 ml testers and decided to mix them up into one bottle and start vaping on it so I could clean up another tester bottle to try something new. Did the same thing a week or so ago with a Peanut Brittle Recipe (PB x RY4 Double) that mixed together with some RF Bread Pudding.

Both are quite good.

That Aged Bourbon Cream would be good with many other flavors. They really did well on that one.

Agreed, I have a Banana Bourbon Nut Bread recipe I plan to make using RF ABC and Banana Bread that I adapted from a similar recipe I found on the recipe site. Maybe that needs to be the next one I try since I only have one empty tester bottle down stairs after just mixing up some of Wayne's PRY4U v2 and a Butter Almond Custard testers. I got a lot of 20ml testers aging down stairs right now.

Amazon sells 1 oz bottles of RF for $5.95 & free shipping. That's actually how I first stumbled across them. They don't feature all of the flavors available at their website, but they seem to be adding more as time goes by. It's a good, inexpensive way to sample their product without breaking the bank, so here's a link to their Amazon store front-

Gremlin has many of the vg flavors in bottles as small as 5ml here - Real Flavors

Walmart has many of the Raw Extract flavors with free shipping here - "Real Flavors" - Walmart.com

The extracts are more expensive but are mixed in much lower percentages.

I have an order on the way from Gremlin, they have a pretty good selection.I got a bunch of them, most in the 5ml,but on their site it says the 5ml is actually 8ml,so definitely a good deal.

Folks,
Remember, some of these flavors contain Diacetyl and /or Acetyl Propionyl, realflavors.com shows this in their test results.

Wherever you buy these flavors from another source, refer back to realflavors.com to view there test results, before buying

Well, I've tried the Bread Pudding & Butterscotch pudding I had mixed @ 15% & getting hardly any flavor at all. I mixed them on the 25th, so that's 10 days steep. Seems like I should taste more with that high a %. I get a little cinnamon in the Bread Pudding but that's it.

That's all i get from the bread pudding too, mine steeped about 7 days before i tried it,but mine was only mixed at 10%.I haven't tried the butterscotch pudding yet,it was only mixed at 10% too,but it's been steeping almost 2 weeks,so i'll try it in the few days.

The VG flavors need a month or two of steep according to everything I have read and experienced. The Raw Extract flavors don't require as much time but still need at least 2 - 3 weeks IME. My VG flavors I tested at 12% and will be mixing at 15% if I do bigger batches of single flavors, though I am more likely to just use them in various mixes/recipes at lower percentages. The Raw flavors I have I mixed at 2% and can't see a reason to go higher for the 3 Raw versions I have.

Always. On a related note, I had been doing that with Nature's Flavors, but they no longer show this info on their recently updated website. It's somewhat easier to navigate now, but the exclusion of that very important data is a big disappointment. I wonder if it's just an oversight?

I agree with the longer steep time for RF. It's been my experience that their single note fruits pass as a shake n' vape in a pinch, most all are pretty good at 3 weeks, but by the 4th week the flavor profiles begin to sing.

I start all of my RF mixes at 10% (100% VG across the board, 3mg nic), but it does seem that I'm happier with them at a 15% flavor median. The only one that I've gone higher with is their Blackberry (20%- yipes, right?!) because I prefer my tart flavors to be very tart.

Just received their Lemon Meringue and Root Beer w/ Sassafrass in the mail today. Really looking forward to trying these! Because of the previous heads up on the Lemon Meringue, I'm going to start that one at 12%, but start the Root Beer at 10% as usual. Wish me luck!

This Aged Bourbon Cream is a hit for me. I mixed it at 15% on 9/24 & it smelled so good I jumped the gun & added a custard flavor. Very good. I'll be making more at 16% & letting it steep longer.

It is my fave of the VG flavors I have tried as well, though the Banana Bread could beat it once fully steeped. My single flavor tester was done at 11% then 3 weeks later I mixed what was left of that tester with the Apple Pie tester which was tasty as well. I need to mix another bottle at higher percentage as my Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream bottle is waiting for me at the liquor store.

Fozzy71, do you start all of your RF at 12% and are there any that you've kept there? Just asking because if that's the case, maybe I should just start the Root Beer at 12% as well. I say this because it just dawned on me that I'm always bumping the % of my RFs up, thinking, "This is good but probably should go up a notch or two".

I have high hopes for the lemon meringue pie.I mixed up a bottle at 12%,but it's only been steeping a week so far,and the suspense is already killing me haha.

I look for reviews and recommendations on their site and that recipe site I can't mention and do it on a flavor by flavor basis. I have started all my VG RF flavors between 10 and 12 percent but some I wish I had started higher.

Edit: I plan to stick to their extracts going forward unless a flavor I really want is only available in VG.

I think we need to move our RF convo on the other thread here. I think we have someone there that's confused.

Regarding VG flavors, or any high VG percentage,

By warming the finished mix in hot tap water for a few minutes, you temporarily change the viscosity of the VG, immediately give it a good shake and you cut your steep time by a fourth the time
