Is it just me or does anyone else think the innoken coolfire 2 (The one that looks like a grenade) is a dumb idea.... i feel like i have enough problems with people asking if thats some sort of bomb in my hand. And to make it actually look like one? I Just feel like thats unnecessary design with no real function... Yea good luck getting on the plane with that.
The Coolfire 2 with the supplied clearo doesn't look like a grenade. It just looks stupid. Mine has a Smok Mini RDA on top of it, and I reckon it look a lot more like a grenade:
(Incidentally, it seems the Smok Mini RDA can turn any dull mod into something that looks good. I dig the big mod / small topper combo for some reason...)
But I think I get the idea of the Coolfire 2. Since I haven't opened it, it's only a conjecture, but here's what I think has happened:
The guys at Innokin wanted to design a very short mod. They've decided to widen the body to stuff some/all of the electronics on the side of the battery, while retaining the round tube form factor - either that or they have a wider PCB lying horizontally over the battery. Or maybe they just wanted to make the body wider to fit better in the hand. Who knows...
And then, they realized it would look like a grenade if they cut flutings on the side of the mod, and decided it would be "cool" or something. Unfortunately, it just looks gimmicky.
I love how it fits in the hand, and I love its short stature, but I wish it didn't have the flutings. It would look so much better with a smooth body. The Coolfire 2 is a great mod in its own right, but Innokin managed to make it look like a cheap toy. Too bad...
