I got the prodigy v2 switch upgrade kit today and i was just wondering if this affected the 5v feature of my device. my cartomizers are getting hotter than before and feels like 6v's now. can anyone do a use a volt meter and see what this thing is running at with this upgrade kit installed? i would really like to know. thanks guys and gals.

Hey Jingle it could possibly effect your voltage if you werent getting the true 5v before you got your upgrade kit and now are. Your old switch contacts and metal washer may not have been making great contact before and you might not have been getting all of it and now you are. I havent got my kit yet but as soon as I do I will do a before and after reading with the meter and post it here for you to see.

Unless the upgrade kit includes a new contact disk, I don't see how it could have affected your voltage.

I know the V1 mechanical switch had two possible contact disks: one for 5v and one for 3.7/6v. But I don't think that option exists for the V2 yet.

If you're still using your original contact disk, I agree with Dk. I think it's just that now you're actually getting the full 5v, where you weren't before due to possible oxidation or bad contact between the disk and posts.

But, then again, what do I know? Maybe it's possible the steel posts are more conductive and you are getting more voltage?

LOL what he said:) Does make a lot of sense though....:):):) On a different note..How come a lot of people got there upgrade kits and some haven't??? For instance i haven't got mine yet...You just said you didn't....And I'm sure there are some other ones out there.....

Did you order anything else around the same time? If so, Casey said she's holding those until all of other parts are in to ship them together and save on shipping.

I ordered a Protege V1.1 just before they announced the free upgrades. So that's why mine haven't shipped yet.

I didn't order anything at the same time as the V2,But i do have a Protege....Maybe Casey is just waiting for the Protege parts to come in, so she can send it at the same time....Maybe...Yeah i guess that would make sense.....Ok Thanks GregH :)

YES, if you have a Prodigy and a Protege they are waiting for the Protege switches so they can send both at the time same time which is fine for me as my Prodigy is working perfectly - it's my Protege that needs help.

Thanks for the heads up jingle - while I know nothing about what does/what can affect the voltage - based on your post I probably won't muck around with installing the new switch until I have to. I tried 6v and don't like it. 5v is the SWEET SPOT.

hey there buddy how ya doing, you know i just put on the noalox like you told me awhile ago and that works fine, personally i think the contacts are the wrong material, why isnt there brass or copper, but its nothin more then crappy alignment in the switch, changing to ss, i dont see how that fixes anything, what it needs is to start from scratch and come up with a new switch not just a possible fix,by what i hear its not working as intended ,,k9frog
