really really frustraded with my plume veil

my plume veil is not working and i dont understand what seems to be the problem, i tried almost everybuild (single, dual, vertical, supernano) and none of them work, most of time i get is harsh, really hot hit, the flavor i get is very minimal as well.

currently the only wire i have is twisted 28 kanthal wire, setting it 0.7ohm is hot and pretty unpleasant, having it more than 0.7ohm the ramp up time is pretty slow(like 2~3secs?)

sony vtc4 ( after few days i got it i do realize its a clone unit however i did some read up on other forum and experts they claim it wasn't a big deal and performing quite similar to the ori unit, so i didnt care much)

I found that lining up the coils even with the main airflow holes and only lung inhaling with AFC wide open really toned down the hash hits for me. If coils are to high or to low didn't work for me, I vape 12 nic, dual .5 ohms.

Ditto. I use this same configuration (Dual Coils on 28 gauge at .5 ohms) & nic level 50/50 PG/VG.Open the airflow all the way, and make sure the coils are level with the top of the screws and it should be better for you.

I do not have my drippers with me at work, but I can post a pick of my build when I get home tonight.

For your ramp up time, I am using both of my on Mech Mods and the ramp up time I am seeing is similar to other RBA/Tanks I Throw on them.

Also take out out all the cotton and get rid of any pooled juice. Fire till the coils are glowing. They should start from the Inside and glow outwards. That's the easy part. Now when shes all hot and glowing look and the coil legs. Any even hint of the leg starting to glow can cause a issues. Some will put some cotton touching the legs to stop it, but this does not work for me. If the legs even think about glowing all I will taste is nasty wick taste and have a harsh vape.

What blend are you using (vg/pg)? Too much PG equals harsh ejuice.

What level nic are you using? Too much Nic equals harsh ejuice.

You have to keep in mind that you're dripping and anything you drip will be magnified greatly. Dripping really brings out the best and worst of an ejuice.

My advice to you is low nic (3mg preferred, 6mg max) and high VG, (70/30 minimum). Run a single coil of 26g (not twisted) at around 1-1.2ohm, and open her up. You should be pleased with the results.

It has to be something wrong with the build, maybe a hot leg or small short somewhere. I'm vaping a Plume Veil with dual twisted 28ga coils (.48 ohm) on a regulated mod, pushing 65 watts through it and the vape is nice and cool with the airflow open all the way.

Way too much wire for a good reaction time. Once it does start to get heated it then go is into an over heating effect. By taking so long to reach effective temperature you are essentily baking that section of wick dry faster then juice can travel and once it hits prime temp mmmm mmm dry hit

When building my bottom fed modded plume, I do a dry fire with the AFC and top cap on, all while looking to see that the coils are centered on the air holes. My best results so far have been with dual 0.5 ohm coils and max VG 6 mg with a few drops of MBV white out per 6 ml in my Reo Grand.

sorry for the late reply, the juice im currently using is 50/50 12 nic

i check for the hotspots and coil leg and also make sure the coil is align with the air holes everytime im building it, so yeah, it couldn't be these issues, my guess is like what thrasher said, bad build

currently im running single micro coil 1ohm just to be secure and fortunately it went well this time, but certainly not what i expect when i got the plume veil

in the mean time i think i will just stick to it until my istick 50w arrive and hopefully able to pull something nice, anyway thanks for the replies, you guys are really awesome and im appreciated, sorry for the bad english
