Really, REALLY new to vaping - help with purchase needed.

Hi all.

I have been reading around the 'new to vaping' posts already here but it seems that everybody already has spme idea at least of what they are talking about in terms of equipment and juices.

I don't have any experience or knowledge except having a turn on my ex's Veppo.

I don't understand many of the responses to newbie questions as they seem to assume a knowledge that I just don't have about models, parts, batteries etc .. I really need it simplified until I have some experience.

I am located in Australia so e-juices need to be imported from the USA in order to have nicotine in them, that is really the sum total of what I know.

I want to buy a star-up kit that will basically give me a true idea/experience of vaping. I am looking for a strong tobacco flavoured juice as well. I currently smoke about 25 cigs a day (16mg).

Expense-wise, I am not strapped for money and am not necessarily looking for the cheapest. I want something reasonable that won't leak (my ex's Veppo leaked like crazy) that will give me a decent amount of vapor.

Thanks in advance for any help .. I have a gazillion links and tabs up in my browser but am completely overwhelmed by the choice/s and info available. Help!!!!

I would really recommend the MVP 2 as an all around great vaping device. I'm female, and I worried a bit about the box style, but it fits very comfortably in my hand. It has a tremendous battery life, and will last for 2 days without charging. You can even use it to charge your cell phone, too, lol.

It is very popular here on the forum these days with lots of people. Here is a link to a reliable place to buy it on ebay. It looks like they even have free shipping and ship to Australia.

Authentic Innokin Itaste MVP 2 0 Energy with New iClear 16B Starter Kit | eBay

About the tobacco juice, I can't help you, as I like other flavors. I hope someone will come along and recommend a good tobacco flavor for you.

You really can't go wrong with the MVP 2. It is very well made and performs so well.

Thanks for the responses :)

Buggainok: TY for the link .... that looks completely different to the pipe-style of any others. Can you just order and pop in any e-juice (I don't even know if I can just buy 'any juice' and put it in 'any e-cig' ... **dumb blonde look**)

I was looking at the kanger as you can buy them here in Aus direct and I read a recommend from Moonswanni on another newbie thread ... but I have no idea if the kit is OK or needs a bigger battery (when I looked at batteries, it took me to a US site which said a variable battery needed a different charger and that charger had only a USA connection ... etc ....) .. and then my brain melted. And I needed a cigarette ...lol

It It wasn't long ago when I was EXACTLY where you are now. I totally understand what you're sayin. So many names of companies, mods, juices etc. And then there's the rda, mvp, sid,134,rba,vtr,bdc,ce4, vtc4,, etc, sooo many too learn, in all departments. I remember thinkin NOTHING had a full name lol. Id recommend youtube. I learned a vast amount of info there. And of course, here. But I would highly recommend the mvp2 as well. I was worried I went the wrong way, with so many other options out there, but was uber happy when I got it. I wished I had went straight to that, rather than the whole ego scene. Though, I think an ego is a must for the "just in case" times, or even if you just cant carry your main mod. Great price too. If the box isnt your style, and you want a tube mod, I think the vamo 5 is a great starter mod as well, I almost got that instead, but the ability to charge my cell phone with my mvp2 won the battle. If you dont mind a lil hassle from the cops, the coolfire 2 (grenade) is a nice simple good mod as well. In fact, I think the whole innokin line is great for most levels of vapers. I hope I didnt just come across as totally confusing and make your choice harder lol. And remember, whatever mod you dont get now, you can just "need" it later lol.

When I first started, I went with a 30 dollar EVOD kit, then upgraded to an AeroTank with future mods. I say, don't spend the world on something if you aren't sure if you a fan of it to begin with.

Cheers for that - I guess it is a matter of not wanting to buy the cheapest and be disappointed/put off and not buy the most expensive and find out it's not for me!!!

Thank you ... I don't feel like quite such a toolbox having read that! lol.

I have looked at the mvp2 and the box scares the creamcheese outta me ... it's HUGE!

A grenade is probably not my style (tho', never say never right?) ...

I am re-thinking the large box and considering the kanger evod and/or the triton from halo? ... both are not too expensive although I have read nothing on here re the triton, it seems to have good reviews from a google search.

I am ordering tomorrow night which gives me 24 hours to decide .... aarrgghghgh ...I have trouble deciding what I am going to have for dinner so this is just torture.

FWIW, especially since you can get it locally, I'd start with a Kanger Evod Kit. By all accounts the Innokin MVP2 is an excellent unit, but you need to have a back-up set-up anyway. I started vaping in September of last year and I'm still using my Kanger batteries - although I'm now using the Kanger Mini Protank 2 v.2 clearomizers instead of the eVod tanks that came with the kit. You can buy better hardware later, after you've gained a little vaping experience and a bit more knowledge regarding hardware.

Whatever you decide, make sure you have a backup for everything. The last thing you want is to suddenly be stuck without anything to vape - which might make you head to the store for a pack of cigarettes. The good thing about an eVod or ego kit is that all the parts are very reasonably priced - including the chargers. I think a good starting setup would be

- Kanger eVod kit (since you can get it locally), which I believe contains: 2 batteries, 2 tanks with coils, 5 extra coils, 1 USB charger and 1 wall wart (house current to USB power converter)
- a few extra replacement coils
- an extra charger (if you have a computer with a USB port, you don't really need a 2nd wall wart, just an extra USB charging assembly)
- a supply of e-juice

Learn how to clean your coils and this set could last you for quite some time.

I suggest that if you can afford it, you also buy a Kanger Mini Pro Tank 2 (MPT2), as in my opinion they vape a lot better than the stock eVod tanks, but this is only a suggestion and is not necessary for a starting setup. FYI, the MPT2 uses the same replacement coils as the eVod tanks.

The MVP really isn't that big. It's a very popular choice around here because it has great features, a great price, and is built like a tank. It fits very comfortably in your hand (well, my hand at least ;-)

You have to realize that size is important. A smaller battery won't last as long as a larger one. If you're going to get the evod, you really need to get a pair, so you can be charging one while you're vaping the other.

On the other hand, the MVP will last you all day (for most people, several days) and you can vape on it while it's recharging (so-called "Pass-thru mode).

Don't get me wrong, the evod starter kit isn't bad. But it's likely you will outgrow it pretty quickly. At the very least, I would recommend getting a variable-voltage battery; this is a very important feature IMHO.

Thanks for the input everyone!

I have ordered a kanger EVOD (purple ..yay!) as I could get it locally with an Aus wall charger.

I am actually really interested in the MVP2 so, if I like vaping, that will be my 2nd purchase based on the reviews here :)

I made the mistake of ordering juice from a US supplier (mistake only in that it is going to take a while to arrive - up to 2 weeks even with express int postage apparently).

I have been reading some rave reviews about the Israeli company Yaeliq but as they take up to 5 days to even process an order before shipping, I think I will wait and see how I go with the US stuff ...

Wil let you all know how I go!

Thanks again :)
