Someone please enlighten me! I'm rebuilding my protank coils using "Boiled" Organic cotton because it tasted like cotton before. I'm using 32 gauge Kanthal and have read and watched videos about heading the coil prior to vaping. Do I need a torch, my battery or will a lighter work? I've seen it done so many ways. Opionion? Thanks for all of your experience!
I use a standard Butane torch but pretty much anything that can make the coils glow will work
For Pro Tank coils i will wrap coils around a 1/16th drill bit as close as i can get them without overlapping , i then bend the leads down and take it off the drill bit (temporarily) then while holding both leads in my one hand (yes i am pretty immune to burns lol) i will then torch the coil while applying light pressure from both sides with a small pair of needle nose pliers.
This will compact your coil as tight as it's going to get without deforming , might have to do it twice.
When it's compacted i slip the drill bit through the coil again and place it in the recess slots on the Pro Tank head making sure both leads are not wrapped around each other or touching and then you just add the insulator and pin and clip em close.
Don't forget to wick , i use both organic cotton and 'Peaches and Cream' yarn because they both work great, the yarn is nearly the perfect diameter to thread through the coil but roll the tip into a needle point.
If still having issues take 'one' strand of yarn out , clip both sides once through and wet it with your juice and pop the stem back on the head and check resistance.
