Mods, please move this if it is not in the right place, thanks.

I was seriously thinking about ordering the new smok BEC Pro 50 watt mod but read a review on here and sounds like it has some issues. So not sure on that yet.

What I liked about the BEC Pro. I love gadgets and electronics, especially remote controled things. Thought the bluetooth was cool and 50 watts was cool even though I would never use 50 watts.

Anyways, this is what I'm looking for in a mod. VV and or VW, 18650, at least 20 watts in case I want to try that some day. Durable, nice display and ease of use. Doesnt matter if it is round or box shaped. Anything futuristic looking or high tech is cool.

Looking to spend $120 or under unless its something really cool, then I might be able to go up to $150.

Thanks

Any other suggestions? I just watched Pete Busardo's review on the evic extreme. Seems like you cant see the screen outside and I dont have a computer for the ubs cable. Would be awesome if it had bluetooth as well.

Maybe the BEC Pro will get better with software upgrade? So far, those two are what I'm thinking about but what else is out there?

The BEC Pro is actually a good device. I am very critical of things and I have a feeling the other guy who posted in that thread is as well. Is it perfect? No, but no PV is. The only thing I wish were improved is the one item at a time display and the battery power isn't shown in real time (including under load). I don't think these cons are uncommon and I have no idea what the behavior is on the app since I do not have a compatible device, but I bet they can somewhat counter my complaints. I can find cons to any PV on the market and I have not used my Sigelei 20W since I got the BEC so it's not as if I regret my purchase.

For $90, you can't go wrong with the BEC. Even at higher prices, there isn't much that can really compete with it. What other VV/VW tube mod can reach 50 watts regulated? What other VV/VW tube mod is upgradeable to 100 watts when the firmware is made available? What other VV/VW device has a mech mode? The truth is, it's a one of a kind device so don't let a few minor cons push you away from it unless you would be seriously annoyed by what was discussed.

The grip is great (easily the best grip I have seen on any PV), the 510 connection is great (sealed, with a beauty ring that you screw up for a flush connection -- spring loaded connections are weak), the appearance is great, the features are great, the display is so-so and the button is OK (but I have yet to find a button I am jumping up and down for -- I have used device with button that I hate, however). Overall, it's a very solid unit.

@ Caged, where did you get it for $90. Was it free shipping? I'v been looking on ebay, $104 with free shipping is the cheapest I've found.

Not really a Provari fan. Nothing wrong with them, just everyone has them and the specs arent what I'm looking for.

I can't remember the shipping charge. If it wasn't free, then it was an insignificant amount.

This is where I got it from. I was very happy with the transaction and the service from the store.

I've got to recommend the VaporShark rDNA or DNA. Yes, it's a box mod. But it's a tiny box mod, fits in your pocket, and runs the tried and true, made-in-USA, Evolv DNA 30 chipset. If you want the smallest available, get the DNA. If you want something with a replaceable 18650 battery, get the slightly larger (but still tiny) rDNA.

I'm a techy-geek as well and work in IT. I love the display on this thing, it's clear and shows everything you need. I am slightly drawn to the other mods (eVic Supreme, BEC) but I just don't think interfacing with my computer has anything to do with vaping. As long as I can control the vape easily on the device, not sure I want a phone or computer getting in the way. I want a highly reliable, rock solid, well-built system that will last. VaporShark is that.

Innoken MVP. It works great for me. I have higher watt devices but the 11.0 watts is enough for most of my vaping. It is strong. Easy to charge with a usb cable. Doesn't roll (some of us prefer box mods). Gives a flat power output. Battery last all day. Does variable wattage and voltage. Built in ohm meter. It is reliable and cheap (<$45).
Their vv3 is also nice but the battery doesn't last as long. Much smaller and cuter.

ECC, a huge e-cig trade show is being held this weekend. You might want to see if anyone makes any interesting announcements.

Innokin will be displaying the tube mod they did in partnership with Evolv so there should be some more details on that. There also have been some rumors that Evolv may be introducing their chip that does temperature control at ECC.
