Hi All, I'm new to ECF and new to vaping. Started vaping 6.20.11, and haven't had an analog since after smoking for almost 40 yrs! Simply amazing to me... I bought a "Travelers Kit" from V2cigs. They have the kr808d-1 batts. I think their kits are good. A lil on the pricey side, but you do get alot for your $$. I am now looking for good diy juice sites. I have ordered from vermillion river. LOVE their Kentucky Vanilla Blend, and I've ordered from Joogler Juice. Like Andrew's Cappuccino. Have some caramel popcorn on order from Tasty Vapor. They look kinda promising for a beginner mixer maybe? They have doublers and flavors. So here is my dilema. Where can I get decent cartos for my kr808 and what's your opinion on the stainless steel CE2's?? Also thinking about upgrading my hardware, but I have no idea what to get. I want to keep it fairly simple :)

as for your question about the carto's for the kr808 im no help cause i use the ego batts and i have to be honest if your looking to upgrade i strongly suggest those! im also new to the world of vaping (been doing it for about 2 months now) and i LOVE them! the battery life is amazing! you can get an ego kit on cignot for $59 and it comes with 2 batts 2 510 atomizers and 5 prefilled carts. i also purchased some cartomizers and am experimenting with those. i also like to be simple and have found the ego kit to be as simple as it can be! and if you get cartomizers you fill less than you do with the 510 atty and cartridge....

For 808 (& 510) cartos, I like boge. Vapor4life wow cartos are also decent and right now I am using some of their higher resistance coolcarts.
I tried an older ce2, it didn't do anything for me. Nothing against it, though I find a standard carto with poly filler just works better for me. I use 6 ml liquid a day, standard cartos are very fast and easy to top off during the day.

I highly recommend the kr808d1 Kr808d-1 starter kit: kr808d-1 cartomizers, kr808d battery and more! Kr808d-1 kit from LiteCigUSA! i bought one for my husband then swore that the 510t by joye would be better and we ended up both using his set. 2 weeks later however we decided that we didnt care so much about how it looks and bought eGo 1100 mAh 2 battery kit with the dual coil cartomizers. this thing rocks ma socks off and a battery will last me 2 days. We bought 2 of these kits.

The kgo really rocks but my husband still takes his 808 to work. The 808 is really nice because the batteries are long lasting for an analog type pv and you can refill the cartomizers easily. In addition to that they are pretty cheap to replace parts. They have a really nice throat hit and with the cartomizers they do not ruin the flavor of your ejuice. You can either buy prefilled cartomizers at first or try out some sample bottles of different flavors. I really hated the dekange and high caliber ejuice but there are tons of great vendors on the site that can mix up exactly what you want.

Some juice vendors that I like (and are reasonably priced) are quicknic.com (the watermelon rancher is awesome), honeyville vapor.com has a great apple pie and banana foster their fruity flavors are good plus really really good sales. kickbassvapor has a great following and lots of good flavors (my first order is on its way but ive heard great things). Pinkspotvapors.com has some good fruity ones but a bit overpriced imo.

hope that helps there is alot of good information on the site

as far as cartomizers for the 808 litecigusa.net has some good ones. I like the premium ones because the soft tips are really so much easier to pop off and refill. Their shipping is cheap (or free over a certain $$)

as far as 2 piece or 3 piece.. I really like the 2 piece so much more. If you want to switch flavors you switch a cartomizer and dont have to mess with switching a cart and cleaning out an atomizer each time.

One that hasn't been mentioned in this thread is the Joye 510T. Find the manual battery system a bit better. Makes for a shorter draw similar to an analog. Love the tank system on these. Consistent vapor from full to empty. Same size as 100 analog, and battery life is just fine. I've been sitting around vaping all day, and just now put in the third battery. Thus far, I've had zero issues with the tanks. I do prefer the low resistance atomizer, and will be using these exclusively going forward.

a lot of great info. but i am a newbie to vaporing as well and your jargons keeps me lost in the jungle. looks like i am missing out on a lot of good or better stuff, at least better than what i currently have. because when I bought mine, i just saw it at a store and asked, "is that an electronic cigarette?" the sales lady said yes and I immediately bought one because i thought it is cool. i didnt originally have the plan to quit smoking. but hey, the e-cig sometimes is a good substitute.

The gas station ones are fine to see what PVs (personal vaporizer, aka e-cigarette) are like, but most of us move on to other things over time. With a decent PV, the right eliquid, many of us completely stop smoking.

I started with what's called an RN4081 -- it was good to try, I could see that it helped, but I definitely wasn't going to stop smoking with it. Pretty soon I picked up some KR808D-1 (one of the popular generic models) equipment, with some higher strength eliquid (I needed 24 mg/ml strength, and found a tobacco flavor that worked for me). After a half year I picked up some 510 (Riva fat battery version) gear, now I've been using a variable voltage mod for 5 months.

I know people who are veterans (long term users) who stay with 808, it does what they want. Nice thing about PVs -- there are lots of options. The key is to find something good enough, then take some time to pick anything you switch to later -- don't feel rushed, always grabbing the next great thing (unless you feel like it -- a lot of people enjoy the hobby aspect, but that's a conscious decision).

I tried my friends blu and it didnt work for me but I hope the best for you. I tried the ecigs approximately two years ago and it did not work for me then but i think i just didn't find the right setup. This time i have the advantage of my coworkers that have gone mad over their ecigs. I have been able to try multiple liquids and devices and have already found 3 liquids that i really like and found a wonderful setup (Riva 510).

Okay guys, I'm posting my little less than a month review of my Volt, along with comparisons to the Blu for those that are deciding.

Vapor Production / Taste
The Volt definitely produces a lot more vapor than my blu. One aspect I've noticed about the volt vapor is that it tends to linger around a while longer (much like smoke) whereas the blu would dissipate in a matter of second(s). This could be because it's a different vapor, or just the fact that there is more vapor with the volt.

For taste, I definitely liked my volt cartomizers (watermelon / 555). at first.. They seem to taste rather funky towards the end whereas the blu was constant until the very end of the cartomizer. I couldn't tell you if this is because I've been vaping for volt for so much longer than the blu (2 more weeks than the blu) and I'm just using more of the e liquid, or the blu actually tastes better. I'm assuming it's because I'm actually finishing my volt cartomizers whereas I didn't have the blu long enough to taste the end of one. The Volt flavors are definitely more intense. The blu's flavors i had (tobacco and vanilla) both tasted like mild coffee. You can definitely tell the watermelon is watermelon and the 555 is sweet tobacco.

Winner: Volt here

Nicotine "Buzz":
I was vaping medium strength of both cartomizers. Volt easily wins here. I found myself grabbing the analog pack less and less as I continued with the volt.

Winner: Volt

Real Analog Experience:
There's no doubt about it. The volt is heavy. It's long and falls when you try to hold it like an analog. The PCC isn't much like a cigarette pack while the blu's is just like one. The blu was light and fun. While the volt is still "fun", you definitely know you aren't smoking. A bit of a bummer here.

Winner: Blu

I would recommend the Volt to most because you can refill your cartomizers easily and it has a LOT better battery life. I purchased some Johnson creek juice to see if the volt juice really was a bit gross towards the end, and I found as I got towards the end of a cartomizer, the cartridges with the JCJ tasted in the same "burnt" taste as the Volt ones, so I'm assuming this taste is more of just a juice refill problem compared to an actual juice problem.

Also, on a personal note, I'm down to 1 to 0 analogs a day and vaping less and less! I wasn't an intense smoker by any means but don't plan to be vaping for too much longer. I've just ordered some chocolate and cowboy low strength cartomizers from volt to help cut back on my nicotine addiction even more. Looking good for my future!
