Currently using 18mg ...

That seems to do ok for me in terms of cutting nicotine cravings and keeping normal cigarette use to a minimum.

Recently tried 11mg, and that didn't seem to keep nicotine craving low enough so I probably used more normal cigarettes.

Curious ... did anyone switch up from 18mg to 24mg and find their even periodic use of regular cigarettes drop off even more?

I don't really want to use more nicotine than necessary, just trying to find the best level.

18mg nicotine/level seem to be the most common/popular out there.

I don't have access to local suppliers so it's not as easy to try the different level.

So ... for those that seemed comfortable with 18mg, did switching or trying the higher level 24mg offer any benefit?

I'm just using a lower end, though recent, cigarette look alike ecig (zerocig) which seems ok ... so I can't play with volts/ etc. to alter vaping characteristics. ... As well, goal is quit smoking and nicotine use, sooner rather than later, so I don't really intend on being a long term vaper.

Also there is some coughing related to vaping use ... fairly minor. Is either VG/PG better for reducing the cough factor ... or is that primarily more related to nicotine [level]. Tried VG 18mg juice, refilling the carto/atom, seemed a little better .. but hard to say from just one test, especially with lower end ecigs.

Most need 18 - 24mg to transition to vaping. I started at 36mg, went to 24mg fairly quickly and stayed there for a year and then went to 18mg and now use 16mg. Nic strength is the main part of throat hit, so if you go too low, your throat hit is close to zero.

A better model PV for a beginner, such as an E-Power 510, Kgo 510 or EVO 510 will significantly enhance the vaping experience over what you currently use.

It really depends on what your brand was. I was always a full flavor Camel smoker, and needed 36mg when I switched. My friend smoked Newport Lights, he found 36mg was an overdose. I find PG to be harsh on my throat so I only buy blends or 100% VG. If you search the ECF you'll find that many have allergic symptoms when using high PG juice.

I still use 36mg. These companies carry it:

E Cig Juice @ *_Highbrow Vapor_* - E Liquid Store, Shop our Store for Ecig Products. (customizable - just enter how you want it in the comments)

https://vaporstation.com/index.php/e-liquids/vs-brand.html (Frisco is good!)

Welcome to Tasty Vapor

deejStuff eLiquid, The Apocalypse can wait... (Here you can do 4mg increments: 36, 32, 28 & so on, I really like his sweet gingerbread)

And if you want ot lower the nic level later on, you just buy some low mg & mix it with the 36mg.

I quit smoking analogs immediately after I started vaping, so limiting my analog usage hasn't been an issue for me.

However, for throat hit and nicotine needs.. 24mg is my happy place.

I have to agree with spyderbite on this one.

I quit smoking cigars and 24mg was more than enough for me to 100% quit smoking 24mg give quite a punch even on cheap devices.

NGIB, Who did you order from that has 36mg? I've been looking for higher nic, but can't seem to find it.

Almost all the places I use carry it. ECBlends and Vapingzone are just two of them. When it's time to go down a bit, just get the same flavor juice in a lower nic level and mix them...

I have been vaping since Oct 2011. Still can't get totally off the analogs. Average 1/2 a pack or less a day. I have been using 18mg and under juices. I am going to order some 24mg juice to try. Mainly to hopefully vape a little less. Right now I vape to the point of a very heavy feeling in my lungs. (I am sure that is from 40+ years of two packs a day) I'm hoping if I boost the nic I'll get satisfied quicker without vaping til it comes out my ears. (although some flavors are hard to put down) Hopefully the increase in nic will get me totally off the analogs.

I personally use 16-18 depending on where I purchase from and it keeps me from wanting an analog. I've seen many ppl have different levels. They will start out there day with say 24 and then later on swich out to 18. I've been considering doing this also for times where stress is high and I need the extra to get me through.

I smoked rolls up (American Spirit tobacco) for 40 years before trying an e cigarette and started on 18mg (Skycigs). That was fine (for 2 weeks) until they 'new and improved' their cartomisers about 4 weeks ago and the 'new' ones made me cough. So now I'm using Liberro (with empty cartomizers and alternating between Maple Cured - so yummy! -and their own tobacco flavour) at 18mg and still haven't had a real cigarette (although I still get an easily conquered craving just after dinner).

I find when I have the odd craving for a real cigarette, using a tobacco flavoured juice helps quell it.

Sounds like others are experiencing the same thing.

18mg, with a little self control, keeps smoking at a minimum and possibly less in time.

However, with stress levels are a little higher ... which depletes nicotine quicker .. 18mg doesn't seem to be enough to cover the cravings. While 24mg under normal stress levels will likely be consistently too high or too much for me. I don't particularly like the effects of too much nicotine.

Not surprising I guess ... most smokers, when smoking, will smoke more under stress ... primarily due to the stress effect depleting nicotine quicker. Not sure there is a solution that problem under then quitting nicotine completely. Some above decided on using different nicotine levels for different "times".

Maybe a better ecig will offer more ability to vary the level of nicotine delivered. That would make it easier to control the nicotine level under different conditions/times.

I can only speak from personal experience here, when I was using one of the cig look a likes I bought locally even their 18 mg didn't seem to do much for me. 18 mg juice in an ego (which I would suggest a kgo instead of the ego) was enough for me.

I can't tell you if it was the battery itself that made the difference or the different cartos or a combo of the two

Yes .. I just clued into that as well. :)

Can't have everything ... reality is you can only ingest so much nicotine ... at some point you have to stop.

Problem is dropping nicotine levels ... have to learn to live it .. or do without.

If I stick with 18mg, and put up with whatever occurs, I will eventually get used to it and be fine with it.

Of course .. changing 18mg to 0mg ... same story .. :)

Worth while to mention ...more acid blood as opposed to alkaline, increases nicotine depletion. Stress levels, increase blood acidity. So maybe it isn't the nicotine level, but blood acidity from other activities/food. It can be challenging at times to consistently maintain nicotine levels to prevent withdrawal .. over doing it isn't a good solution.

Oh well, that's all part of using nicotine.

Deleted because I decided my witty answer didn't help at all.

(But your first two sentences do solve your problem.)
