7:30 Cappy?! That's sacrilege!

Ahoy pchela! Yes, I must admit it feels funny, here it is 5pm local time, just about the time when I am usually really getting into making sawdust and may day is 3/4 over already ... I kinda like it though.

Happy Monday all!

Good morning, afternoon, or evening everyone. Well I can now be added to the burn list. Last night in my drunken stupor I forgot to remove my carto tank before checking the batteries on my D2. LOL nice and crispy.

Ahhhh nice to hear! 2 of my Ciscos died last week because I did the same, was just too ashamed to talk about it, but now I feel better :)
As I can't think more than once in a day, I just decided that checking batteries AND thinking about removing the atty before was way too much for me, and decided not to check the batteries ever again :p

Time to quit fer the night I think, got alot done and that always make me happy.

Finished up a handful of desk caddies, all ready to ship, also working on a deluxe caddy that is really looking nice so far. I also have the next batch of mods cut down to size and will work on them too as part of the plan.

I don't have a plan set in stone, but there are several things I will be doing trying to get back up to speed. I am going to make a somewhat smaller batch, but I am also going to try to upgrade the desk caddy side of RSM as that is a small but steady income with alot less overhead than mods that will keep us afloat while I am mod making.

I am also still looking at what kind of items I can stock on the website. Not piddly little things like atties and batteries, they would not be worth stopping work to fill the orders, but perhaps starter kits or good & reliable mods that I would use myself if I needed something to vape.

I figure I lose about 70% of the price of a mod to overhead of one type or another. Desk Caddies only lose about 20% making them a great source of ballast for the ship, they just never sell very fast. Hopefully more and better designs will help and I don't think there is a real source of them to be immediately had for the asking.

Gonna do whatever I can think of, cross yer fingers lads! Arrrr

See ya tomorrow ;)

Cappy, I'd like to also suggest, as the caddies do not seem to take much time to make, you should think about offering them to other suppliers for their websites as well. You would take a little less profit but you might be able to move a very large volume of them in addition to selling your mods yourself. You could also do the same thing with the cruisers, while keeping the cutlass and destroyers for yourself to sell. Hey, someone who buys a cruiser from another supplier might decide how great it is and come to your site for an upgrade at a later time as well.
your son seems to have a good business sense, maybe you could put him in charge of making volume sales.

That sounds like a very good plan, Cappy. Also, just to float an idea by: I diy the majority of my juices and the majority for a few other people I know locally. I use many wooden cigar boxes to keep stuff neat and easy to look at, but often wish the boxes were larger (like double the size!). I love the boxes that come with the cigar "racks" that keep the cigars in place- it keeps the flavorings all in place. If the desk caddies are a good thing to keep you afloat, maybe a Juice Treasure Chest would be a thought. Either for juice bottles and/or for flavorings. Being light tight, I would think it would have appeal to those of us who love wood and hate a mess! Just a thought.

Good morning crew! Still didn't get more coffee but I'm substituting with a java monster energy drink :p

Petition to refer to atty killer mode as blunderbuss mode henceforth. All in favor? :D

So, a couple drops of lighter fluid in the atty, drop in a spit-ball, switch to "Blunderbuss mode" and FIRE !

heh

Busy busy busy, I like being busy too!

Well, slight change of plan.

I AM going to re-open pre-orders, but with a couple changes. First, the pre-pay went over like a dirty brick, so I will make it optional when pre-ordering, pay now or pay later. Apparently many people have a phobia about pre-paying with past suppliers closing shop after taking orders.

I am going to raise the base price finally after over a year of not doing so, but not a crazy amount (although someone sent me a link of a competitor charging over $300 for his top model!). Many people tell me I am too cheap, ok, I believe you, I will increase the price somewhat and take my chances.

I am also going to pass on cost of wood to the buyer. The person making the order can pick their own damage that way and I will have a small amount of woods that add no cost. I have added a few more selections of panel wood, including the finicky to work, but ever beautiful snake wood.

I am increasing the batch time from 3-4 to 3-5 weeks just in case I get occasionally swamped with workload.

I suppose I should have slowly increased prices quarterly over the last year and a half, my bad and I apologize for the 20% jump in price, but I'm getting tired of eating cheese-macs and hot dogs without rum to wash 'em down!

Arrr? Arrrrrrrrr!
