yeah. those coil ends need to be cut short right at the post or they can come in contact with the inside of the top shell.
My A7 is working so nice and better than any atty I've used. So no more io6 or any other attys for me. This is probably the best vape gear purchase I've done since RSM. I use hemp wick now and I definately like it better than silica although it needs to be rebuilt/replaced more often.

how about a close up picture of your setup pchela so we can all take a look?

Just to add to this advice regardless of your wick type make sure your coil/wick has no chance of resting on the center juice feed tube either as it can also short out.

The only blue county in Texas!
Well, I've been messing with it for a couple of hours and I did get a good coil built with lots of vapor and okay throat hit (btw - I'm a wuss - I like a mild throat hit) - anyway, it worked great for a few minutes and then shorted enough to kill the coil. I think the SS mesh must be hitting something. It's difficult to position it where it's not hitting metal and is still low enough to wick anyway and if it's just so, it very easily could touch the center post or sides. So... I don't know how other people are getting the SS wicks to work with these. I'm not a fan of the silica wicks so maybe I'll wait until I can get ahold of a ceramic wick. If my theory is correct, that should work really well in the A7.

One of the coils I built today went from 1.8 ohms on the Provari to 4... without me doing anything. This was one push of the button to the next. That's weird right?

I personally don't think the A7 is a good design for a ss wick alone. Now a silica wraped SS wick maybe but in that case I would leave the coil fairly high and let the silica wick up from the well. That isn't to say some people aren't doing it but to me I just don't think I would get along well with it.

The 808 state
She pulled into port today, looking a little worn. But with a little touching up ( light sanding, a bit of rejuvenating oil and a coat of ebony beeswax) she is looking as good as new. I like shiny but opted to go satin on this. Ebony wood has a great feel and look to it. Too bad maybe cost wise, that it is not offered as a body wood for the new mods.
