yeah the break is clean and I actually loosened the the switch nut to remove the broken piece with intentions of glueing but it has taken the backseat to my favorites. I'll get to it someday.

I think of mechanical as one without wires n solder and with a no limit, mechanical switch that lasts forever. But, those do require regular maintenance so there is a trade off.

My only question is how do you make a wooden mod with no wires?

The only blue county in Texas!
Hello crew! Hope you're all well - just wanted to check in and say hi. Been super busy but hopefully that will let up over the next month. I lost my grandpa recently and then I looked for and found a house - we close on the 28th. Lots of busy work ahead with repairs and painting. Anyway, I've been thinking about you all and wanted to say hello. :)

Ahoy, I see we are sailing into a Tuesday already, time sure flies when ur having fun.

I was just thinking today...
Cappy, do you think I could find somewhere a 3ml bottle instead of 6ml one in a Cruiser and place a Kick below the bottle, then somehow wire it so that I could use both 18650 and Kick in a Cruiser?

I have a few 3 ml bottles left laying around I'm sure. Wiring it up might be somewhat of a problem though.

I've been slowly raising the price of the Cruiser for this last year, but ideally if you take a Cruiser II model, add the price of a kick/DNA and the cost of extra labor it should equal the price of a Cutlass DNA.

If I would have known the original Cruiser was going to turn into a pre-order mod it would have been 50 bucks more coming out of the gate. The profit on them was low, and after allowing them to be pre-ordered the profit on them was even lower. Breaking even is not a shrewd business model! :D

I know that isn't what you asked, but I just wanted to put that out there again, although I've mentioned it before on the thread.

Ahoy pchela, nice to hear from you. Sounds like a lot has been happening to you since you last checked in. I think our last news was about the Graduation this summer.

Let me add my condolences to the rest for the passing of your Grandfather.

That's good to know cappy. Personally I don't vape any more than 3ml a day, and since I just love the size and the W x H proportion of the Cruiser I wouldn't mind spending some extra when I get one... would it make the Kick-wiring any easier if the spring side(-) for battery was at the top?

Well, the kick and kick2 both rely on sidewall contact with metal hooked into a common ground. With an all wood internal box there is no convenient way for me to adapt for that and I've never played with mounting strips of metal along the insides. I'm hoping that soon anyone who wants a VW mod will be able to price compare the Cruiser to the Cutlass and see that having the DNA12 incorporated into the body works out to about the same price as a Cruiser + Kick.

As for the size difference, well, not much I can do but we're only talking about .8 inches.

Currently the only easy way I can think to use a kick in a cruiser is to just solder a wire from the negative battery contact to the side of the kick board while it sits on top of the battery.

Ahoy all, happy hump day.

Another blasted storm moving through the area. Living in central Florida, the lightening capitol, the summer months are usually taken up with rainstorms every afternoon. The bad thing is we get a lot of power dips and momentary power loss when lightening hits too close.

I worry that a momentary loss of power will throw the cnc machine program timing off and the least that would happen would be a broken bit, the worst would be a wrecked mod body or broken machine. I just turn all my electronics off during the storms but this really puts a cramp in my schedule when it happens every afternoon. Ah well...

Ahoy maties. Back from the dead so I just figured I pop in for an update. Been in a coma for a couple of weeks. Been in a nasty motorcyle wreck and rehab is going as smooth as can be. I got a lot of catching up to do. Haven't vaped a thing in about a month. The jonesing is just killing me or it could be the meds. But that's the breaks. Hellbent on getting back to normalcy. Once I do, I will still live life to the fullest. Vaping, riding, and all that other good stuff that life has to offer. Just call me bull headed. Family and doctors think it's crazy, but I can't stop being me.

Holy crap Rt! Sorry to hear about the accident but glad to hear you're recovering. Keep that positive attitude and you'll be up and kicking in no time!

Yes, holy crap RT!

Being a bike rider of over 40 years, I've dodged many bullets myself but have had many friends in hospital beds and signed many casts. I'm awfully happy that you are going to be fine I assume?

-----

Well, I awoke to another stormy day here. I may have to risk it and try to do some cnc work. The batch is sitting idle and I've run out of support tasks I can do for the batch. Damn weather ...

Get well RT, the ships running with a skeleton crew and I need you back in the crows nest!

Glad to hear you are ok and welcome back. I spent a month in the hospital myself when I lost my leg to a bike accident in 05.
