GREAT choice of wood combinations Waho!!!

Thank you! :)

I added that jolly roger Bolivian rosewood/ebony mark 8 to the cart soo many times before someone finally scooped it up for me haha. Maybe with a new cutlass ii I could let my lady have the ctr/padauk mark 8 :p

You know what, I just realized I have one more of those Bolivian rosewood blocks for a mod ... let me go check the size ...

Hmm, it's .15" too short with end caps even for a Cutlass II .. but I am a pirate wood wizard, I can probably make it work by fudging the size a bit :D

I think I'm out of cocobolo though ... (edit) I have enough for one more PV.

If I were you Cappy, I'd just get types of wood that I thought would keep the price within your current range and keep making them like you have been doing. Show what you got and that's that. If someone would want a special, more expensive piece for their panel/door...let them show the piece to you to get it okay'd, discuss the price that the mod will cost them with their piece and go from there...

Oh, and they'd purchase their piece and send it to you....forgot to add that part, lol.

there's got to be lots to choose from that fall within your price range don'tcha think? What you've shown us so far have been really nice looking. I like the idea of keeping with basic wood choices for the bodies....woods that aren't so expensive...like you did with this last batch....some dark and some light bodies

A fine idea. I could also publish the size requirements for the chunk of wood I need for the box itself, so people could tell me what they want to use, I could look at it and give them the go ahead or tell them why it would not work.

I'm trying to get the new website ready to go, my son who is working on his BS in IT is trying to do a much more professional website for me, where you can pre-order, select options, etc ... but it is slow going.

(He has never done it before, and I am an old dog who has learned so many new tricks in the last year and a half that I am starting to loose my higher brain functions)

I think that you've purchased and worked with enough woods that you know what to spend for a piece to make it reasonable for the buyer and everyone has been totally satisfied with your choice so far

Thanks again :)

I think the main trick for buying wood is to buy the lumber you wish in a large size to keep the price down, but that excludes the extreme exotic woods. If you buy big lumber for that kind of wood you're looking at hundreds of dollars. So the knife scale route allows people to get the extreme exotics for their mods for 10 to 50 bucks, but I don't have to buy a whole plank of the stuff to make one mod.

I'd definitely be more than happy to own her, she would be an honored member of the fleet! :)

Okey dokey, I will put you down on my hit list, I mean 'to do' list.

Say, I have 5 mods to make for people on that list, this is how I slid down that slippery slope of "pre-orders" last time too! Oh me oh my ..... can't be avoided I guess ...

Hurry up website .. (gonna go kick my son if he is playing video games) ....

Yikes, $35 for buy it now. If you send it to me, the price of the mod will just be the base price of the model you want?

If you allow someone to send their own wood after you've ok'ed it then I think that's fair. For customs you'd have a base price and the buyer incurs any extra costs.

And if they also send the wood for the body I could knock down the base price too. I will try to get that all up on the website, and try to not confuse people .... not gonna be easy I bet.

One last one and I -have- to be done, for a while at least :p. I think I'm clear into 2015's vaping budget by now

I can get the particulars later, such as the edge style.

-----

I just thought of something, I am going to need a new Domain name I think. Damn, and I thought naming mods was hard, a better Domain name than "Redskymods.com" should not be too hard methinks, lol.

Well good luck...we can't even agree on what to call the new mods let alone a domain name, lol!

I can get the particulars later, such as the edge style.
