I run mine at 1Ω and that can be fierce with new batteries. 0.4 is flirting with a short and i'd hate that!

Waho, I just don't know about the 26650 mod. That battery is so damn huge, I made a mockup of a mod that would hold that size of a battery and the ol' lady could not get her fingers around it and hold it comfortably. It's like holding 1 1/2 rsm's side by side. I don't know if the interest level would justify all the retooling and such that it would take to make one.

I'm surprised to hear that. What brand of batteries are you using? I design them to use button top batts. Even with a couple of magnets they are too short?
Is a picture with the battery thats too short inside the mod possible?
Ahh true. The 26650 was more icing on a being able to use 22mm attys cake. I still keep a few tubes around for the large attys, being able to go all wood is my dream

My Cutlass is here!!! I will get some pics tomorrow. Needless to say I love it. Just curious what wax was used on it as I would like to see if I can get my 5.1 to have the same finish.
I have to say I am loving the new style mostly. I say mostly because it is odd getting use to the button placement. I am use to it being on the oposite side of the atomizer. Also the feed hole is just a little small for my fingers. I might try to widen it just a little. Finally I wish there was a place to store the screwdriver inside. Although I think I might try glueing a magnet behind the feeder bottle and see if the screwdriver will stay there.
Build quality is great as always. I really like the new one piece body design. Seems a bit more durable then the 5.1 design. I also really like the new door. Again it just feels more durable and I am not as worried about squeezing to hard and warping it any.
Screen placement is great. Since it is behind the door it looks more protected then being at the bottom of the mod. Also no need to draw attention to yourself when the screen lights up.
Dimension wise it feels great in my hands.
I am also really loving the waxed finish. Although I have to admit I have had my 5.1 so long I don't remember if it had a similar finish when I got it lol.
I also really like the recessed drip well.
I chose all Zebrawood and love how it came out.

What polish can i use to keep it all shiny looking? i use Howard's feed and wax, but i want something that will not need to be reapplied so regularly - once a week say.

I've been using SC Johnson Paste Wax, I got mine at Walmart but I've seen it all over at hardware stores and the like.
I've been testing it beforehand on the back side of the door to make sure its not going to dry a weird color and it hasn't on any of my mods thus far, from ebony to curly maple its been fine. I've just been using pieces of old Tshirts to apply/buff it off every few weeks. After a week I'll go over it again dry and it shines right back up.

Wax? Any wax you apply is going to wear off fairly fast, none of it is capable of standing up to constant wear for very long.
Waho suggests a good wax though, but please be aware that if your wood has alot of open grain pockets then paste wax may get deposited in them and make the mod wood look speckled. The Howards feed & wax doesn't really do that and it also will soak into spots that have been worn bare of finish and help to re-seal the wood and prevent cracking as well.

Thanks to you both - here are the pics - all with different batteries. The AW li-ions are closest to making it.
The third pic is an Orbtronic 2900 battery with a button top - the others are flat.
Now - you are thinking - why use a vv mod and only run 3.7v - well because with a 1Ω coil, i am only limited by what the regulator chip will do. I do admit to a certain smug satisfaction blowing huge clouds in the office though!

Oh damn, my bad! I completely spaced out that you were talking about a Cutlass II dual mode. Yeah, there's no way a 18650 is going to fit without magnet spacers. The length of stacked 18350's is significantly longer than a 18650. Why was I thinking Cruiser II?
Let me know how the 18700? battery works out. I can always suggest it to buyers if it's a good fit.

Take it easy 2423kids. The guy in the video is an active member in ECF so I'm sure he's safety aware. He was just demonstrating the performance of his triple micro-coil setup and it was just an experiment. Micro-coil method is getting pretty popular lately. I use it myself(single coil) on my A7 and it works better than all my previous rebuilding methods. And as for the inhalability of his setup all you have to do is to take shorter draws.
i see the appeal of microcoils and they are easy to make - but - they usually use cotton wick, which means you have to re-wick them daily - really.
But i like something i can use for an entire week with not having to do that and being able to dry burn silica means i can. I tried a micro with ceramic wick and it lasts better but the wick is a dollar an inch. It lasted 2 weeks in all - but i am talking about a daily use, thrashed to death wick on my Reo.
I know people that reckon bamboo is the way to go, but i figure Pandas breed so little that i don't want to use it. It can also not be dry burned.
What i do is make a dual coil on the same wick 32g kanthal, a 3-4 wrap which comes out at 1Ω almost dead on, time after time using 3mm fat silica wick.

I've also been using micro coils recently, my latest is a 10 wrap of 28g which is about 1.7 ohms using cotton ball wicks.
I agree that you need to rewick more often, hell, I've rolled 4 wicks today. But its dead simple and it honestly takes me more time to find scissors and a cotton ball than to make and place a new wick. It's not for everyone, but it works for me.

Cappy I am not sure if it is wax on my new cutlass but whatever you finished it with it just looks and feels better in the hand. I was assuming it was wax. Either way is whatever you used something you would recommend to re apply whenever the finish starts to fade?
BTW why are you discontinuing the Cutlass VV with display? If it isn't prying to much to ask. It is really a great mod.
