Just thought I'd stop in and say help to the RSM crew. I agree this thread is to slow lately.

Ahoy fright, yeah, not only this thread but the whole of ecf has been quiet, especially the last couple months. But summer is coming to an end and more and more people will start hanging around again methinks.

Doctors appointment fer me tomorrow, gonna be out of the shop most of the day. Have a good one! arrr

Ahoy, taking a short break here.

Been working on the electronics cover for the cutlass 20. I made a dozen of them days ago and then discovered I had made them wrong today. I am making another handful of them for this batch now but it's slow work as I've only made the one prototype before and the cover was hand made. I converted it into a program for the cnc machine so they come out exactly right each time but it needs more tweaking.

I just broke a cover on the drill press trying to bevel out the up/down push button hole. I think I need to rethink my method again. One thing I like about the past models that I've made a bunch of, all the procedures are written in stone and work right every time.

Man it feels like I'm running way behind, but looking at the calendar I guess I'm doing ok.

Ok, I got 2 more spare covers that I can afford to break before I have to make another bunch of them on the cnc machine, time to experiment some more.

Have you ever had the feeling your trying to dig a ditch with a spoon?

Ahoy Aidreon, does your ecf member name mean anything btw? And either your up REAL late, or your day started REAL early there, heh.

I managed to make enough of the electronic covers (EC) for the batch, but I managed to mess up 4 of them before I was done. I seriously need to find a better way of putting in the beveled holes so fingers can get at the up/down buttons. Ah well, they are cut out, drilled, sanded and got a coat of finish on them so I can start building the regulators into them now. Cross ur fingers that that goes well, arrrgg..

Yeah, RSM must be special, because my mom always told people that I was 'special' too.

It means abolutely nothing. The name was generated by the random thingy in Final Fatnsy XI Online when I was still a geek....kind of liked it and kept it for everything online :matrix:

Insomnias is what doctors call that :D

That's pretty much how I got mine as well. My very first world of warcraft character was a tauren warrior that ended up with the randomly generated name "Wahotahan" which stuck. All of my characters since have been Waho-something and I was usually referred to as the truncated Waho over team speak/ventrilo. :D

Ahoy and good morning!

Ahhh, it's funny how game names can leak into RL, I've done it many times too, heh.

I'll never forget running Ataurik my Tauren to the crossroads for the first time after completing the beginner quests. Veering from side to side on the road, trying very hard not to get any aggro. Run run run! What is that, a dinosaur?!?

My little brother and I still refer to each other as Wazi and Waho respectively, much to the dismay of people not in on it. We also refer to my neighbors son as Mitten (short for his warcraft name Deathmitten) often enough that my mother even knows him as Mitten.

Arrr, I'm done for the day. Got the batch to the point where I have to do the edges and then hand sand them.

I only have three desk caddies to do this weekend so I may have time to do some work on the batch as well but I have to get the caddies out by Monday.

Once the thread gets back to the point where I'm seeing at least a dozen different people posting on the weekends I'll start doing some random thread giveaways again.

Have a great weekend all, enjoy the last of the warm weather if you can, for those of you who can't, it's time to test out those new snow shovels, har!

Those were the good old days. For the longest time I picked my armor by what had the most armor value only. Till someone explained how the stats worked for me.

Ahoy! Woke up and got right to work on desk caddies, got a couple last minute orders in that I wanna get done this weekend so I gotta get hot hot hot!

I know they are not much to look at yet and still need to be edged and hand sanded, but here is the current batch as they are. Once they are sanded and get a coat of finish they will look much different so don't freak out or I'll stop posting "In process" pics again, arrrr!

There are 8 Cutlass20's, one Destroyer20 prototype, 1 Marauder-HD prototype and 3 Cruiser-HD's in this batch starting from the front left.

And off I go ..... arrr

i have seen some - can i say frankly piss poor looking DNA 20 mods lately. One that sticks in my mind is a butchered vv grand that looks like it was done with a can opener!

There are some good ones too - but i am no longer into tube mods and so since i lack the skill, patience and soldering ability to make my own.....i stalk this with fascination!
