When I said the lady and I watched it all, I should have said all of it and the enterprise pilot. We had the same reaction to it.
I have a soft spot for the Next Generation crew (Patrick Stewart was an amazing choice for captain and really set the tone of the whole series in my opinion) but also enjoyed Voyager quite a bit. Kate Mulgrew did a great job as well. The Doctor (Robert Picardo) is my favorite Star Trek character of all
Deep Space Nine was underrated in my opinion. I know a lot of people disliked the whole stationary nature of the station, but it did allow for (in my opinion again) the most character development. Of all the times my lady cried while watching Star Trek, the worst of it was the DS9 ending due to her "missing" the characters already. The others are spoilers if you haven't seen them so I won't go into it
I agree on the recent movies. They were a bit off of what I think Roddenberry what have done. They did get a few folks I know into Star Trek so I guess I'd call it a wash.
If they make a new series, I'd like to see it set in the future that they touch on a bit in Voyager. The whole time travel thing could be very interesting. They could also work in old episodes (like they did in DS9 with the original trouble with tribbles episode) and the Q.
Done writing a book. Time to refill the cutlass
