Ok, I have made you all wait long enough. Took some quick pics of them before I sand them with some fine sand-paper and put another coat of finish on them. I just put some hardware in them temporarily so you can see what the end result will look like.
I decided to free hand the outside shape of all the new
mods. They all have completely rounded edges as that has always seemed the most popular, but I also brought them over to the spindle sander and went nuts on the edges some more. This way is much more fun for me and none of them will be exactly the same as another.
Here you go...
As you can see, a couple obvious advantages to this style is covered electronics, which is becoming more and more popular in box mods and also the tank is now nice and centered in the body. I don't have to offset it anymore to make room for the lid.
They use 18350 batteries. It's tight, but I've moved away from using 16340 batteries. They use dual 18350 batts for VV, or a single 18650 for 3.7v mode.
Mod dimensions, 2" x 1" x 5" tall. About the same as before.
The switch on the bottom is a three way switch. Push to the right for Direct battery/3.7v/battery check mode, center of OFF, and left for VV mode. Just like the Dual mode Cutlass 5.1 was.
There is now a view window so you can check your juice level in your tank without removing it, as long as you have a clear tank that is, lol. It will take a tank .8" in diameter or less.
Additionally, the electronics are not going to be glued into place anymore, so all I have to do is open the cover, pull out the naughty component, replace it and send it back home. It will keep the cost of repairs down alot.
