Maybe you could take another angel. What makes him happy is that you are happy. So the ultimate goal is to make you happy. I hope that made sense. Or you could have the waho approach.:D Order it for him and test it out ......... and give him a Reo.

I stand by my methods, WWAPD? What would a pirate do? :D

Good morning crew! After my amnesia loss of Tuesday, I'm happy to report it is indeed Thursday. I think for once I have an open weekend, may have to just lay up in a hammock with and handle of lemonade and relax for a change. Full steam ahead!

G'morning maties. Happy Thursday. I always get geeked up when the weekend is so close. After the mod buzz and soap box speeches of yesterday I am ready to go full steam ahead and power through today so that I can clear a path to Friday.I must admit waho that I've done that method from time to time. And you are getting quicker at the morning draw.

hello to all Red Sky Folks!..looking for a little advice here. I recently picked up a used Cutlass 5.1 on the classiifieds and I love this thing to death...it came with a few pairs of efest IMR 18350's...flat tops...and some magnetic spacers. All seemed well until both pairs of the efest's crapped out on me..no problem I thought..just get some AW's with nipples and I can toss the spacers...well, the nippled AW's STILL need a spacer (a little precarious sitting on a nipple!) so I was wondering if there are batteries I can use (nippled) without spacers...GeekGirl has a review where she says protected Ultrafire's (blue) fit perfectly..is this the experience you folks have as well?

the other thing weird is that, if I want to switch to 3.7 mode, my 18650's both AW and the new Panasonic, are WAY too short to fit. Was there ever an issue, perhaps on earlier models, where the negative spring was too short cause I never heard of needing spacers for a single 18650 (unless I've just missed it which is totally possible)

Thanks for your help and advice

The only blue county in Texas!
The AW's are shorter than most 18650's and need a spacer. I haven't tried the Panasonic's but they may be the same as the AW's. The Trustfire flame jacket 18650's fit perfectly. They do have a nipple. The Ultrafires also fit but I dunno... I've had better luck with the Trustfires.

Trustfire 18350 would fit in there without the spacer, but honestly, it's not worth the bother. They are rated at 1200 mAh, but in reality are more like 550.. bearly get 3-3,5ml on a pair of those compared to 5.5-6ml on a pair of grey 900mah pipe/totally wicked batteries. For best range of voltages and a solid hit still the AW 18350 are the best choice.
If you want to use it in 18650 mode without magnets, a protected battery should fit a lot better. Best options for performance would be any protected Panasonic 2600 cell or Sanyo 2600 cell, with whatever company name wrapper on top. While bigger capacity cells from Panasonic would seem a better option, the underload performance of the 2600 cell is much better.

Ahoy me 'earties, pleasant day to ye :)

Batteries and spacers, yup, wish there was a better way. When I measure the battery compartment for a mod I try to find the largest/fattest battery of that type and make sure it can fit. I think it would be bad, very bad indeed if someone got a RSM home and their batteries don't fit.

thanks for all your answers, and you too Cappy!..yes, it would be a bummer to your batteries not fitting. Cappy, I now am vaping your solid Zircote 5.1...I'm guessing you remember all of your babies. It's really beautiful, especially in the sunlight. I just had 'er out on the beach vaping between playing pirate with my 2 year old niece...our version is just rolling around in the surf saying pirate things...my current favorite is "it's not just swordfish yere buyin', it's men's souls"...no idea where it came from but fun to say

I'm gonna pick up a couple of pairs of the blue protected from Madvapes as soon as they restore my account...they should fit without spacers I think...and I guess I really don't need a bigger 18650..I've plenty of 3.7 mods as it is

hey Chet, what kind are you using and are you using spacer(s)?

hey lala, I'm rotating two pairs of AW IMR 18350 on my cutlass 5.1.
I use one spacer between the batteries. I actually like using spacer better because the magnet holds the batteries together in place.

Chet, that's what I have in there right now...at first, I thought the spacer made the whole arrangement a little too precarious, but I see your point about holding the batts together...I really love the way this thing feels in my hand and the slide off cover is way cool...and having the screwdriver so handy dandy is a huge bonus...good design there Cappy.

I am running AW IMR 18350's and 2 spacer's in my Cutlass 5.1 without any problems..

Will the new Cutlass 2's be able to use the 18350 also??

The new generation of RSM's all use 18350 batteries, the dual modes (Cutlass II, Destroyer II) also use an 18650 in 3.7v mode. The Cruiser II is a simple 3.7v/18650 bottom feeder and not dual mode.

I will have more pics once I start installing the guts into the Cutlass II's for everyone.
