One thing you could do as well is go back to the model you actually made a few coins with, keep the Cruisers II and caddies as well and maybe make the Cutlass/Destroyer the end of the line ones, and increase the price of these ones a bit, to the point you don't loose money on them.

That way, you would at least go back to last year's status and these were great anyway and people still love them.
Now if people want a Cutlass II or a Destroyers II, just keep these ones on a pre-order system. It's like cars, they make some for every budget. Now if you want the best model they have, you also know that you'll need to drop a few more coins in it. Fair enough.

I agree that it would be unfair to just keep the new version of your PVs and double the price on them, as most people couldn't afford them anymore, but having an alternative, from the Cruisers II to the high end Cutlass/Destroyer with a middle range that would be the Mark-8/9, would satisfy every needs.

I for one would be willing to pay a bit more. I remember you saying a base price increase of 200 earlier. That's still a good bit less than some others asking 250 for a box.

I love my bottomfeeders and yours were the best looking and priced, also the most available without a server crashing sales blitz or 6 month wait.

The old saying "you get what you pay for" doesn't apply here as we get a whole heck of a lot more for the money. Price them where you can make a living. We'll still be here :D

I recognized both there :D
For the first one, you forgot to mention having no choice and taking what you can at 5 in the morning...just cause you need some sleep :p

Cappy, I have read your post and do not envy your delimma. Of course desk caddies and cruiser II makes sense as they raise your profit. They both need more exposure as well though. Possibly we could help some with that.....shipmates? As to your other products, obviously, people want vv. i think at the level of mod you are selling now a reasonable price increase on your pre-orders would seem justified. Also possibly some artificial demand. Making them a little more in demand by putting more of your time into producing the less time consuming profit makers. You could also produce your mid line vv mods at a filler price somewhere in the middle. I for one will be ordering a D2 in the future to go with my C2 weather the price sees a little hike or not. In the long run, I'd rather see you stay in business producing damn fine mods than save $20 in my pocket. Don't know if any of this helps but I hope you get it all sorted out. I sure do love my RSM!

Capt' sorry to hear of the troubles. You make beautiful mods! I had to save up for months to get one, but I would have saved a little more for a little longer to get one :) I paid a little under 200 for mine(not the current model), but could have easily seen paying 250 or more for it. So I think a price increase on the new models is not out of the question. The economy may suck, and sales may be slow, but people still want your mods, and will buy them when they can. I can't afford it right now but I know I still want a Destroyer and saving for one has started up :)

I would Ask the RSMers to help promote you and all your mods and caddys in picture threads, wood mod discussions, signatures, events, etc. I learned about your mods when a fellow trippy tip collector mentioned a contest a while back. I hadn't really heard or seen anything about them until then, just a few mentions here and there. Mostly because I don't venture out into the boards much. After seeing them I knew I had to have one. Mine has been shown off on several forums, several times, and at a vape meet, and was mentioned in my sig until recently, but will be back in there again soon. Every little bit of free advertising helps.

And as for your contests, I love them! But I think you may be a bit too generous sometimes :) Maybe more frequent, small contests giving away the higher profit/least cost items like the caddys, with the rare/occasional Cruiser thrown in. Drag the contests out a little longer, like "you can post once a day for 10 days" or some sort of elimination game, or maybe tie it in with the RSM picture thread, have them post the RSM they saw in there that they liked the best, or I played one not long ago that was a once a day for a week of posting pics of your favorite types of woods. Things like that will keep RSM on peoples minds, and remind them you are here and have great items to sell.

And I'm sure you've already gone through your process and made sure everything is as streamlined and cost effective as possible, so I'm thinking a price increase on the VV models would be called for. Prices are going up for everything. People know this and though they would like it, they cannot expect you to give your time and products away.

I hope you find a way to keep doing this! I love my Dreadnaught and it needs a Destroyer companion :D

I'm listening, making notes, got some food for thought.... I don't want to do anything radical, but I also have to be practical. I hope I can just alter course somewhat and not sell the ship and become a pig farmer, arrr

Good thoughts, thanks for taking the time to read my long post and give me some serious input. Thanks a bunch :)

Now we're FLOODING that thread with our RSM's.....too funny!

That's called propaganda, it works great :D
I'll just wait 'till tomorrow to post a picture of the dreadnought though...might look a bit weird to have like 10 posts with RSMs in less than an hour :p

Edit: Hell DukeBlue, we nearly are Marblewood brothers, mine looks pretty much like yours :)
