My, we are up late!

The Fluke 27/FM is a made for military true RMS meter, made in the 80's. The military is dumping their surplus of them and going to a newer model. I picked up two last year with recent calibrations for pretty cheap on e-bay. One of them looked like it had hardly ever been used and the other slightly used and thats the one you are seeing. Fluke hardly makes a bad meter though and the 87 is a great model I used to use at work all the time.

When I was in electrical engineering, we had a saying that went around. The fluke never lies! I have the 87 and a nicer craftsman meter, and the fluke is much better, especially when it comes to reading resistance. Zero out the fluke and read a coil at 1.3 ohms. Then take the same coil with a the craftsman and subtract the internal resistance from the reading at get something dumb like .4 ohms.

The only blue county in Texas!
Hi everybody - I hope everybody is enjoying a lovely holiday weekend.

I am in need of some troubleshooting - the A7 Phoenix I ordered from Cappy will not fire on my Cutlass. It will fire on my Provari and other atomizers will fire on the Cutlass. I am confused. Thoughts? I've changed batteries, adjusted voltages, lifted the middle post of the Cutlass a bit with a screwdriver, wiggled the post on the A7... etc.

The post on the A7 is adjustable with a screwdriver. Could try turning it out a bit. Hope you get it working! :(

Thanks Cappy! Yeah, I was stupid and burned it while trying to get it to work on Blue. I switched out of VV and zapped it with about 8 volts... oops!

Ahh, I've done that a couple times while checking voltage, but haven't seemed to harm the A7 coil yet, maybe just lucky.

Well, damn long day today, I'm gonna finally quit for the night, off to watch a bit of TV, arrrr

The coils on them can get pretty burnt looking before any bad taste/poor performance. I've had coils running clear juice black through and through and only recoiled because it looked bad :p

I'll have to agree, I've run a coil 3 weeks and finally replaced it because it looked like crude oil inside, but it was still performing. A fresh coil does draw a bit easier because the air holes and everything gets cleaned though.

Night all, arr

Good morning crew! Thanksgiving weekend is winding down and I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't want to go back to work :p

(yawn)

Morning me 'earties ... lets say we all take the day off and play? arrr

I concur! Been meaning to make my lady play borderlands 2 on the 2nd play through with me. More, tougher enemies, better loot, and most of all, more cursing at each other!

I find that running super hot water over it for about 30 seconds and sometimes a dry burn really helps flavor. Although I have to be carefull with dry burns because I have popped a few coils with .15mm nichrome wire.

True! The hot tap water works really well also. I use 30 gauge (.25mm) kanthal and can usually dry burn to my hearts content. Except yesterday I did pop a coil dry burning. Vaped on a carto half the day :p
