Is it really the nic that adds the throat hit? Nothing else can be added to help? I don't like a lot of throat hit, but some is nice.

I'm pretty convinced that the nic is the main factor on throat hit. I think PG/VG ratio part contributes only little to TH compared to nic. Some juices tend to have stronger TH though, like Torque 56 from Halo which gives me TH of 12-18mg while being only 6mg. Torque 56 is a real strange juice. Both TH and vapor production far superior than most of other juices I've vaped so far.

Hello all. Been a while since I've been here but have very much enjoyed using the 3 RSM's I've managed to pick up on the classifieds while waiting to pick up a new one when one becomes available.

Some where around the 10 year mark of smoking I decided that I wanted to quit and started trying every method that came out. It only took me 43 years of 2 1/2 packs a day to discover e-cigs and had pretty much determined that they wouldn't be any more successful than all the other miracle systems but decided to try anyway.

Not familiar with ECF and being a babe in the woods when it came to nic levels, or anything else vaping related, I started with commercial e-juice at 6mg. Luckily this experiment coincided with the fire season here in the mountains of Colorado so I would park down wind of a major forest fire and inhale the smoke. The 6mg juice did absolutely nothing for me.

It took a couple months of experimentation but I finally settled on the magic level of 24mg. Having a pesky case of bone cancer which results in me breaking bones on a pretty much constant basis I tend to see a lot of doctors on a fairly regular basis. Each one, whether it be internist, oncologist, endocrinologist or rheumatologist they all told me the same thing; because of it's stimulating effect nicotine acts as a pain killer and the higher nic level would actually be a benefit rather than a detriment and would help preclude raising the already necessarily high level of pain medication.

As with many others, it didn't take long until I started DIY'ing juice and have settled on 2 different nic levels; 24 mg during the day and 18mg in the evening and night time. This has kept me off cigarettes for almost a year and although physical pain is something I've had to adapt my life around I feel much, much better since being off them. Living at 8700 feet altitude it's tough enough to breath when you're not a smoker... it becomes a real challenge when you are.

Will I ever drop down my nic level? Hard to say but probably not, at least not by a great amount. I doubt that I'd ever go below 18mg considering the beneficial side effects I derive from it. Besides, at my age and medical situation I'm really not too concerned what nicotine may do to me years down the line... as it is, I don't even buy green bananas.

I wish you all a very pleasant and safe weekend.

Ahoy! Guess who's alarm didn't get set last night, arrrrr :(

I guess, when I think about it, it doesn't matter if I wean myself off or not! As long as I'm not smoking what does it matter?

The heavy nicotine does taste pretty foul and when mixed with the cinnamon of my juice and can make your mouth raw, so I think I will stick with lower nicotine just for that reason alone.

Have a great day all.

I started with 18mg nic. After about a year, I went down to 12mg. I really couldn't tell the difference. I sometimes vape around 6mg, and it's still fine. For me, it's all about the hand to mouth action, the inhaling and exhaling, and the FLAVOR. I've never been big on TH, just not important to me. Since I diy, I can make anything I want. It sure would be cheaper to vape low nic or 0 nic juice. I will never stop vaping, it's part of who I am now.

Hubby started with me at 18mg. He likes it, and he stays at that strength. Nicotine has been recently shown to possibly be helpful with dementia and Alzheimer's, and it runs in his family. Right now, we are waiting for his dad to be placed in a home, it's really rough. He wants his 18mg nicotine.

Brief batch update.

The mods are drying from the last coat of finish they get prior to assembly. When they are dry to handle I can start installing the electronics in them. This many mods will probably take me about 3-4 days to assemble them all.

Have a great weekend lad's! Arrr
