Aww, Thank you [emoji170] Daleron
Emma is disappointed. She is use to being able to roam around while I'm outside. But, she is half blind and is losing her hearing (same with Duke on hearing) so, she has to stay on the porch :( . Duke, well, he will just run off and not tell me where he is going

I was out on the porch sitting and watching two hummingbirds having a dispute over which one owns the feeder. One got the other and a single feather floated down and landed on the chair next to me. First time I've ever seen a close up of a feather from a hummer.
I don't have a good camera, so this is the best I could do

It is so tiny ! I should've put a dime next to it...to show how really tiny it is.

    Aw, poor Emma :(
Elly my yorkie is the same way, losing sight, hearing and slowing down in general.

It's so hard seeing them go through this [emoji22] . How old is Elly?

Yes. Have it in a little bottle with a lid ;) . I want to find something unique to display it in. Kinda gonna be hard to find something since it's so very tiny.
I almost lost it  . I had it on a plate under a magnifying [emoji361] glass. I thought it was safe... Nope. I turned on the ceiling fan in the kitchen, went over to the counter by stove and saw something floating. I thought it was one of those tiny fruit flies or whatever. It landed right in front me and it was the feather. Right then, I decided to put it the bottle and put a label on it saying Hummer feather, it will stay shut until I find something to display it in.

Finally, raccoons are not taking over the bird feeder. Had eight here at one time  . Purchased a trap cage and one at a time caught 4 or 5. I did feel bad, though, breaking up families :( . One mamma had 3 young ones, don't know if one of them was the mamma who was released somewhere else, but I haven’t seen mamma or babies. I think, the young ones were/are old enough to survive on their own.
I heard, up the road possibly across the highway, not quite sure where, but one guy caught 60 of them  . Another guy that lives o' maybe five-six miles away was killing them, not sure of how many he killed. Apparently, raccoons have been really bad this year. They are really cute, but destructive.

Elly is somewhere between 12 and 14, she was grown when we got her.

Can't imagine how tiny that feather must be!

I love raccoons even though they are rascals but have only ever seen two or three together.

The porch Wrens have been feeding babies for the last five days :bliss: . Hopefully, I'll be able to watch them take their first flight. Last year, watched all but one take first flight. The last one was scared. His/her brothers and sisters were trying to convince him to come out, he would get on the edge of the hole than go back inside...it was so cute. They must have convinced him early in the morning (before I was up) to take flight. So glad Wrens are 'clean' birds...no poo on the deck (nothing to clean) and they carry out the little ones poo from their nest
