    I think I've discovered the secret of life - you just hang around until you get used to it. ~Charles Schulz

    Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets. ~Arthur Miller

    Life is like a blanket too short. You pull it up and your toes rebel, you yank it down and shivers meander about your shoulder; but cheerful folks manage to draw their knees up and pass a very comfortable night. ~Marion Howard

    People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child - our own two eyes. All is a miracle. ~Thich Nhat Hanh

    You live and learn. At any rate, you live. ~Douglas Adam

    The Dream

    I

    Our life is twofold; Sleep hath its own world,
    A boundary between the things misnamed
    Death and existence: Sleep hath its own world,
    And a wide realm of wild reality,
    And dreams in their development have breath,
    And tears, and tortures, and the touch of joy;
    They leave a weight upon our waking thoughts,
    They take a weight from off waking toils,
    They do divide our being; they become
    A portion of ourselves as of our time,
    And look like heralds of eternity;
    They pass like spirits of the past -they speak
    Like sibyls of the future; they have power -
    The tyranny of pleasure and of pain;
    They make us what we were not -what they will,
    And shake us with the vision that's gone by,
    The dread of vanished shadows -Are they so?
    Is not the past all shadow? -What are they?
    Creations of the mind? -The mind can make
    Substances, and people planets of its own
    With beings brighter than have been, and give
    A breath to forms which can outlive all flesh.
    I would recall a vision which I dreamed
    Perchance in sleep -for in itself a thought,
    A slumbering thought, is capable of years,
    And curdles a long life into one hour.

    He came dancing across the water With his galleons and guns Looking for the new world In that palace in the sun. On the shore lay Montezuma With his coca leaves and pearls In his halls he often wondered With the secrets of the worlds. And his subjects gathered 'round him Like the leaves around a tree In their clothes of many colors For the angry gods to see. And the women all were beautiful And the men stood straight and strong They offered life in sacrifice So that others could go on. Hate was just a legend And war was never known The people worked together And they lifted many stones. They carried them to the flatlands And they died along the way But they built up with their bare hands What we still can't do today. And I know she's living there And she loves me to this day I still can't remember when Or how I lost my way. He came dancing across the water Cortez, Cortez What a killer.

    Humphrey Bogart met Lauren Bacall on the set of To Have and Have Not in 1943. At the time, Bacall was 19 years old and living with her mother and Bogart was 44 and married to actress Mayo Methot. The couple wed in 1945, had two children and remained together until his death from cancer in 1957. Of Bogart's four marriages, it is said that the only one to bring him any happiness was the one to Bacall, whom he called "Baby" both in private and in public. Founding members of Las Vegas' famous Rat Pack in 1955, Bogey and Bacall's most memorable films include The Big Sleep, Dark Passage, and Key Largo. They has 2 children, 1 son named Stephen & 1 daughter named Leslie named after Leslie Howard, the actor who gave Bogie his big breakout role in The Petrified Forest. Bogie died from cancer on January 1957 at the age of 57 & Lauren died from a stroke on August 2014 at the age of 89. They will always be remembered by fans for their on & off screen romantic chemistry together in the golden age of hollywood.
