Short history: Smoked over 20 years; chewed nico-gum 2 years. vaping 2 months.

I've noticed that urge for nicotine is less with each day in the morning. I'm not craving an analog at all (which chewing gum didn't help).
Anyone else experiencing this? I'm glad; just a bit unexpected after sooo many years.

I think thats natural. I have talked to a few people and they have the same reduced need. I used to need a cig when I first woke up in the morning. I smoked before I did anything. Now I may not vape for hours after I wake up. I vape in the day time but I mainly chain vape at night. I just dont need it in the morning.

First I wish your continued success, but starting into month 5 for me and the mourning is still the hardest for me, and I will have 1 analog. Like you said I have for the last 26 years smoked the first thing when I wake up maybe before both eyes are open. I was thinking up to this point I just couldn't find the right juice. Nothing that I like with my coffee although I still vape with it. I have at least 50 different juices to pick from, (bet I'm not alone on that). Sounds simple but reading your post 45root, seems that skipping the nic first thing and moving on in the mourning may be my key. It's the richual that needs to be broke. I still feel I have made good progress 2 packs a day to 1 pack every 2 weeks but the mourning has kept me from saying 0.

Same thing happened to me. I was astonished at how quickly I was able to switch over completely (about a week). Of course, everyone is different and each has to take his/her own path as it best works for them.

Rock on, Waterman...it's not a race. And, it's about the ones you don't smoke.

I think the gum conditioned me to orally accept the nicotine which is making it easier all-round. Just now, I don't crave at all unless I'm in a high-stress situation. My parents have been analog free for 2 years now, thanks to PVs.

Here's my thought on losing that urge. Analogs deliver nicotine much faster than a PV. Why, i dont know but recent studies say it is true. So, we still get nicotine but at a slower rate. The body at first is still looking for the rush but it doesnt come. Over time it gets use to that and the urges subside. Vaping just seems to be so much more casual than smoking. I never feel like I MUST GET MY PV. The only thing i hear people cry for is their special e-liquid. But even when they cant someother e-liquid will do until they can.

I think I know why: the average molecule size of nicotine from a cigarette is about 1 micron as opposed to the 10 micron size of vapor from a PV. That's also the reason why we need nicotine in really high doses in the vapor. That's my take, based on what I've read. As for the e-liquid: I'm a DIYer by nature. I have enough supplies to vape for the rest of my life:) Unless they start banning food flavoring, I'm set.

Heck, I don't even crave that first cup of coffee any more either. And, I was raised espresso lattes. I'm from Cuba and all we drank was espresso.

Now, once in a blue moon, I have to have a cup of dark roasted coffee made in a French Press. No more instant coffee for me. LOL

Oh, that reminds me! I can drink Expresso again :) I gave them up when I quit smoking; the urge was too intense to pick up analogs :(
