Refill Woes

I remember talking about 45s to someone, and my 30 year-old niece was there and she thought we were talking about guns. I had to explain they were round pieces of vinyl that carried music and you needed a "record player" to hear them. Boy did I feel old.

I am very new to the refill process. I use the method demonstrated by Snow and filling isn't the issue but I just don't get the satisfaction from the refills I get with pre-filled carts. It seems the flavor isn't as good and not as much vapor. Is this just the way it is and so many do it because it's more economical or does it just take a little time to master the process?

My trick is to use a toothpick. Put it in the hole, and drip into the cart without it going in the hole. Works like a charm. Especially if you are just topping one off!!

I had seen another post with carts in an ammo box here, and I went to the sporting goods store the next day and bought two. They work great. As to filling with the syringe method, I thought the same thing as was earlier posted; the carts sit snugly in the ammo box so it would be easy to syringe fill. Now I just need my syringes.
The ammo size on my box states 45, but the first box I tried had a flat lid and the carts didn't quite fit. I found another ammo box that had a deeper lid and they fit great.
The guy that helped me asked me what caliber when I asked about the case, and I held up a cart and said, "this caliber". When he looked at me with his eyebrows raised I smiled and said, "I'm a vaper, not a hunter".

My ammo boxes came in. .45 caliber was a perfect fit for the ones I ordered! I'm so happy! I should have ordered more, though.

Those are perfect! I have been putting them back in the boxes that the cartos came in and that's a pain.

These are gonna be a great storage solution. I'd check out your local sporting goods store. We're just shopping challenged here. The best sporting goods store is an hour and a half away, and gasoline too high to go on a whim.

I refill using the condom method. About 7/8 full and when I see the filler get saturated I back the condom off a little and take a straightened out paper clip and slide down the center hole thru the mouth end and wiggle it around a few times. This causes the wicking material to soak up a LOT of juice. then I side it back into the condom and repeat. I only use coolcart blanks and this works great. After that I run the paper clip thru the battery end to make sure the hole is clear to get a good draw. I have refilled some so many times that the color has worn off the end of the carto.

I made my first attempt with the syringe yesterday. That vet gave me a really long needle.....anyway... A little messy at my 1st attempt, but the cartos do seem to last longer than my dripping method. I think a little practice and it will be great.
