Reinforcing your PV eGo/510 connector

I'm probably not the first to come up with this but I thought this might be helpful to some.

I have a Vamo and have always considered the connection between the unit and my Vivi Nova to be a weak link in case you drop it or accidentally bang the tank to the side of the table or anything. As you know, with a lot of mods the connector rises slightly above the base of the unit to allow for airflow. This also means that in case anything happens, all force is directed straight to the (brass) threading.
So, I had this adapter ring lying around which is meant as a cosmetic upgrade when using a tank like the Mini Vivi Nova with an eGo type battery. This ring perfectly fits inside my Vamo (and most probably all other mods) and makes the connection between the tank and the unit considerably larger and more sturdy.

Do you still get good airflow? I bought a flared one, albeit with only 2 vents, that when tightened cut the airflow. That might just be useful tho with some clearos.

I wonder if a flared one would entirely fill that area for even better support??

I can't notice any difference in airflow at all. I specifically ordered this one because it has 4 vents so perhaps that makes a difference.
I don't think a flared one (the widest part being the same diameter as the vivi nova) would fit in there.

if 2 vents don't give enough airflow...
don't think it would take to much to add more vents/deeper vents if needed.
a dollar store hack saw would do the trick, if you don't have a dremmel handy.
