Hey gang,
At the start of this year I decided to quit smoking after 4 years and 1 pack every day. I bought a V2 Economy Kit and it blew my bad habit right out of the water. I know now that this is no way to vape (even though I still really appreciate what V2 has done for my lungs!) Unfortunately, however, as if the world of e-cigs wasnt already overwhelming enough, I can't even imagine where to begin to enhance my vaporizing experience... So I decided to register on this forum and with some luck find some new ground in the vaping world.

As I said before, this stuff is so very overwhelming and I have so many question. So I suppose I'll jump right in:

1. What's the difference between a 'mod' and an 'e-cig', as far as I can tell they are pretty much the same thing??
2. I've heard a lot of people referring to 'pcc' s what does this abbreviation stand for?
3. Cartomizers-
---a. Not all cartomizers are refillable, is this correct?
---b. There are existing cartomizers that when properly cleaned can be continuously used, is this correct (if so, which ones!!?)
4. Tanks-
---a. Attachs to a cartomizer so dripping isn't necessary, is this correct?
---b. How often do these tanks need to be refilled vs a regular cartomizer (regular being roughly half a pack of cigarettes?)
---c. Are there any other benefits to using a tank?
5. Voltage-
---a. Higher voltage means denser vapor, is this correct?
---b. Depending on the e-liquid depends on what voltage or is it just personal preference?
---c. Other benefits of having adjustable voltage?
6. E-liquids-
---a. Any assortment of e-liquids can be mixed together and added to a cartomizer for customized tastes, is this correct?
---b. Any e-liquid can be added to any cartomizer/tank, is this correct?
---c. Who has the largest selection of e-liquids for the best price?
7. Personal Vaporizers-
---a. Always better than e-cigs/mods (if so explain why!?)
---b. Traditionally don't require a cartomizer (just e-liquid), is this correct?
---c. (I have shied away from these because they look like drug paraphernalia) Do people take their PV's out with them? If so have you ever been questioned about it/got in trouble with it (via some sort of law enforcement?)
8. I plan on buying something like an e-go twist (seems to be highly recommended on this forum,) are there any really good deals on one or something like it that I might be interested in?
9. Finally, I live in southern Illinois (fairly close to St. Louis). Is there some way to find out where the nearest electronic cigarette store is (a website perhaps listing any/all electronic cigarette stores? Google maps has failed me :glare: )

All advice is appreciated, I don't expect one person to take charge and answer all of these. I have plenty of time to wait on responses/answers/opinions.
Thanks to all ecf members who read through this wall of text (even if you don't respond!)

Edit: I spaced the multiple part questions away from the others but it wasn't showing up that way in the post..

I really like Heather's Heavenly Vapes for e-liquid. They have several flavors and I have tried a lot of them and haven't found one that wasn't good yet. My favs are Ga Peach, caramel apple tobacco, strawberry shortcake, mocha java smooth, and vanilla.

I got my ego twist from Liberty Flights (look under the batteries/Ego C category). They have a coupon code too so look for that on their site.

I personally prefer boge cartomizers, smoketech dct (cartomizer inserted into a clear tube that holds the liquid. The liquid then seeps into the carto through small holes in the bottom of it.), and vision clearomizers.

Ok, here goes. I will answer what I can.

1. Mods are basically that, it's a home built device for the most part, or an ecig that has been changed or "modified"
2. Pcc is a personal charging case. This is usually for the minis, the ones that look like cigs. It allows you to charge on the go. It is usually a case with a cell phone type battery that will charge your pv batteries.
3. Most cartomizers can be refilled, unless the manufacturer of a specific device makes it proprietary. For example, blu cartos are not really designed to be refilled easily. They don't even sell blanks. For the second part, cartomizers are designed to be disposable. You can reuse them several time, but eventually the atomizer part will go bad or burn out. The filler will also get gunked up. They can be cleaned to a point, but eventually have to be replaced. I generally refill them about 15 times then toss
5. Some juices have a sweet spot. They taste better at different voltages. Personally, I don't bother with that, I enjoy my 3.7 volt.
6. Yes, you can mix your existing juices to make it unique. You can also make your own juice with plain vg/pg and add flavoring, or order custom juices.
Any juice can be used in cartomizers and atomizers. Some are harder on them then others. For example, juices that are high in vg make require you to clean or change your carto more often because it is thicker. There are a lot of juice companies out there. Many offer promo codes and cheap trial sizes. Ecblends has a wide range and allows you to make your own. I love Vapedudes.com. They have great juice, allow you to customize the pg/vg ratio, add extra flavor. They also have good promotions including a 40% off coupon and a coupon for a free bottle.
7.pv is personal vaporizer. All of the vape equipment whether it be a mini or a mod is a pv
8. Personally, I like the volt x2. It's not a variable voltage though. Personally, mimlike 808 because I can use the cartos on my mini battery when I am out and about.

9. Search on here, but keep in mind that stores generally charge alot more than buying online. It's usually good for emergencies, but I would buy online if you can wait. If you need something right away, like running out of juice,I would shop local, but stock up from online vendors.

Hi Kioso So I Wil jump in with a couple that still need some answering.

1. Mod is a modified version of an ecig. Modified to allow more use time, more voltage, adjustable voltage, liquid feeding capabilities and just about anything else you could possibly fathom.
3. a. The good ones are refillable. Most cartomizers can be purchased empty. The sooner you begin filling your own the smaller the ultimate end use cost will be.
b. I use one boge carto every 5-8 days at varying voltage and about 4-8ml of liquid per day. I do have a stock of about ten cartos that have been boiled/blown out and dried but they are backups for the off chance that something would hold up an order. Cleaned cartos usually do not live as long as when they where new. For me I may get 2-4 days out of one that has been cleaned.
4. a&b carto tanks house a cartomizer within the liquid and can hold from as little as 2.5ml up to I think I have seen an 8ml tank. A standard sized empty carto holds 1ml. There are tank atomizers but for the most part there is not currently much more of a frustrating way to vape that I can think of than having leaking, poor feeding, wonky hitting, muted flavors and expensive parts to top it all.
c. The benefit of a tank is that if the tank works well it will keep the carto full and primed so that the coil always has something to vaporize. The benefit here is a longer lasting cartomizer and an overall more pleasant flavorful vapor.
5. a. More voltage equals the capability to heat and vaporize more liquid, and faster. More flavor generally , more warmpth and normally more throat feeling than lower voltage.
b. Different liquids can be manipulated by voltage. Generally tobacco flavors taste better to me at higher voltage, the reverse is true for sweeter liquids for me. I normally vape menthol, fairly sweet without tobacco flavoring. It vapes sweet and smooth at 3.8v but it vapes heavy and lots of throat feeling at 5.4v with less sweetness and more emphasis on the menthol. Its all about personal preference, thats what variable voltage is for.
c. see b.
7. a. Always better to refer to your device in a way that defines what you want it to define. You would never say you are electronicsmoking right? You are Vaping and its your Presonal way to be rid of cigarettes. And good for you. So the term PV covers all of the afore mentioned devices. Its a way to distance these devices away from smoking as they should not be viewed as anything that is attached to smoking. They should be differentiated in name as such.
b. Yes most do
c. I take my PV everywhere, I welcome any questions from anyone curious enough to ask me about it. I will gladly explain what it is , the benefits of this versus analogs,I even carry a spare 510kit with two cartos loaded with my favorite menthol and a tasty tobacco fo those who are interestad in trying one out. After they try it I unscrew the carto and give it to them with a card to my favorite supplier. I have been asked by police what it is and even given out a couple of cartos to officers, but have never been harrassed about it, and I vape a pretty large box with a green voltage display and all.....
8. Yes you should pick up a twist. I personally own one of the 650mAh as a backup and must say that they are great devices. I have heard that there is an amperage limit but I only use down to 2ohm cartos and at 4.8v they have no problems at all.
9. VaporSearchUSA You will most likely get your best value online but having the personal one on one with a shop that is concerned about their consumer is worth a little extra. You make the call..

If you come up with anything else let us know. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.
