Reliable Mod that can hold 3 batteries??

Hello all .. happy to be here grateful for the forum.
Like to inquire please if anyone can suggest a good reliable mod that can hold three batteries... I have the realux rx 2/3 but i wouldnt say that its a very reliable mod to say the least... if anyone has any suggestions I would really appreciate it.. thanks

I can't make any suggestions on a 3 battery mod since I don't own any. I've wanted something more then a dual battery for some time, but couldn't find any that were a good fit for my wonky hands. But about 6 months ago, I did pick up a Smok GX2/4 and while I run it more in dual battery configuration, in 4 battery configuration it is surprisingly comfortable. If TC is important to you, I can't speak to that as I only do power mode. And I don't go really high on watts, but love the battery life in quad mode at 100+ watts!

"A very reliable mod?" Most will have varying opinions on what qualifies as "reliable." JMHO, but you could buy a mod most proclaim as most reliable and be disappointed. And you could buy a mod posters will flock to proclaim your lucky to get a month out of it (cough, cough, Smok) and still be happily vaping away on it 2 years later. Every product produces their "lemons." At a price point of a carton of cigs or less, I don't sweat it. But that's just me and every mod I have purchased over the past 3+ years is still working fine. Maybe I am just lucky!

Temperature control. With the right type of wire (most folks use SS these days as it can be run in either wattage or TC mode, and it's easy to manage. If you want to run your mod at a preset temperature, you'll need a mod capable of doing so. If you want to use TC coils (either drop in or those you put in an RTA, you should probably go with stainless steel as kanthal wire cannot be run in TC mode.

Good luck, I don't own any 3 battery mods so I can't really make a good recommendation either.

It’s a bit cantankerous though and has basically been dropped from use in cartridge coil systems. With standard coils it is more popular. Some people swear by it, others find it merely annoying

OlderNDirt is saying that the quad mod doesn't do temperature control accurately (some mods are good at it, others not so much). Since you are just starting out with an RTA maybe you don't need to worry about temperature control for a while, plenty of stuff to learn.

Temperature Control is a SETTING that is on many mods these days, it runs your coil NOT using wattage (apart from the initial starting wattage which you choose) but using the internal temperature of your coil. It avoids dry hits and provides a smooth vape, and is also supposed to minimize any tank overheating which CAN lead to undesirable byproducts in your vape. Many people are using TC (if not all the time) but it's certainly not NECESSARY, at least initially.

If you think you will want to use TC in the future, a smok mod is not the greatest choice. However, if you really think you will hold off on TC, then OlderNDirt's suggestion for a mod may be good for you.

Mods that do TC well and accurately tend to be a bit more pricy than mods that either don't have the option to do it, or don't do it well. Inaccurate TC isn't a good idea, usually, so if you think it will be a while (if ever) before you use TC mode, it's not something to worry about. OlderNDirt was just letting you know that the mod he suggested is best used in wattage mode (what you are using right now).

Also, 2 types of coils-- drop in factory coils that you buy (I'd think cartridge mods fall under that category too) and coils you build and install and wick yourself, which is what you are working on doing right now, I am assuming.

drop in coils vs wrapped bare coils would be another way to put it. Bare coils are older and are a loop of wire screwed into posts in the device. Cartridges look like little metal cylinders and “drop in” (or snap in or screw in) to the tank

I've had the WISMEC Realux RX200 for over a year. It has been pretty reliable for me. However, I recently retired it from daily use when the 510 center pin began to get wonky on me -- a relatively common issue with this mod -- when my atomizer sometimes doesn't get an electrical connection. It began to get annoying to pry the center pin up every time I changed tanks.

Thanks... and maybe it is best for the forum to say that for me I wouldnt touch weismec products even if i was paid after seeing what happend to my realux rx 2/3 ... and hearing how many suffered the same fate... if i get burned once i prefer to keep away usually forever.

The GX2/4 does temp control and since it appears you have never tried that and use power mode only, yes it will work for you. But perhaps this is a good point to ask, what wattage do you run and why do you want a triple battery mod? Do you need more power (more then 120 watts), more battery life, or both? There are a plethora of dual 18650 mods, large and small, fancy and plain, with multiple colors to choose from. Most will give you a day's use on 2 batteries if staying at or under 70 or so watts.

Just a clarification, no, that is not what I was saying. The GX2/4 does TC, but I don't use TC, so I can't say how well it does TC. My limited experience with TC left me with 2 results. DNA boards give the best results and building TC coils is far better results then drop in TC coils. But I could be wrong on that!
