Snipped...
We can go on about it but bottom line is if your not comfortable doing it then don't.

I appreciate the clarification :) As I stated I had some concerns and was hoping for a better understanding, not start a dragged out debate. I believe we're all here to learn (speaking for myself) and grow as we gain experience. I have not had the opportunity to try the real deal yet so my interest currently is more for a good out of the ordinary vape and simply see what others can come up with.

No offense was intended, but yes, I can simply not use an ingredient that's beyond my comfort level ;)

^^Initially I didn't feel comfortable with vaping oils. But after a few days of vaping pluid and my absinthe juice with no ill effects I feel comfortable with it now. :)

I just picked up some 100% pure sweet orange oil from the healthfood store. :D
I need to play with it for a bit- see how much it needs to be diluted, see if it will mix with PG without settling, etc.
I'll let you guys know what my findings are.

Does anyone know what kind of mint is used in mint candy? Maybe peppermint?

Thanks!!

Is this the TFA/TPA oil you mentioned you had before?

Anise (Italy) J.Steele - 12ml - Superior Grade Oil offered by John Steele
https://shop.perfumersapprentice.com/p-6389-anise-italy-jsteele.aspx

I was considering this one while lookign around, but wasn't sure, and then of course I wanted to know which other one you ordered and how it was too. That Puritan Pride one looks like all the others I've seen on ebay and elsewhere, but I've ordered from them before so I might just have a coupon to use so I'll have to check that out.

I want to say yes but I buy most of my flavorings from Ecigexpress, Wizard labs and RTS. The TPA Anise is what I used but only had a dram of it. Im assuming this is the same stuff but I also dont want to assume. We all know what happens when you assume.

ooo. If the MJ tastes like Gin, I'm in business. I like Gin... don't recall having it with lime though... I did buy the lemon-lime flavoring so we'll see. It feels like I've been waiting forever. One thing I hate about holidays is how it slows/delays everything.
As for the oil... that definitely makes sense. I've never had pluid so I can only go off of what other people have described. I would have to get my hands on that cutter stuff as I don't use nicotine... which the regular stuff seems to be hard enough to get so I don't know. Maybe if I can get my dad into vaping, I'll get it for him and try it. I'm still trying to convert him. He said his hesitation comes from the fact that he likes the intense flavor an analog has... But he's willing to try some different flavors now so I'm going to have to get my atty going.

Get your Dad some "Analog Mild" from W2V. I don't know how they do it but it taste like an analog smells. Just a great vape that I'm sure your Dad would love.

I tried absinthe, orange (not candy), horehound, and toasted marshmallow. I think it's pretty good.

I'm thinking I might try a TFA Absinthe base with TFA orange candy and either a small amount of TFA horehound or mint candy. I bet that would taste delicious. :)

Try "real cig flavoring" from Vaping Zone, it got me off the "reds and Cammeis"

I tried the njoy full flavor ( just for kicks) and was surprised of how far tobacco flavors have come since I quit analogs...still can't believe the equal to 2 packs of cigs they claim:p I might have got what was equal to 6 analogs out of it before the battery died...back to the clone I'm starting to wonder if there is any orange type flavoring at all "had them all it seems" definitely a citrus flavor of some sort though and that could be any or a lot of flavors when it comes to down to Citrus fruits:facepalm:

So I played around with the orange oil today.

I added 5 drops to 5mL of PG.
I tested it in my RBA- Not much vapor, decent flavor, harsh lung hit, no throat hit.
I didn't let it sit for too long so I do not know if it would have settled out at this point but...

After doing a little math decided that adding 30 drops would make the flavor the right strength I want. So I added the drops and let it sit for a minute or two as I built a new coil. Then I looked at the bottle and the damn oil settled out.
However, the PG under the oil had clearly absorbed some of the flavor. It was a orangish color.
I hypothesize the PG was fully saturated with as much of the oil as it could hold. I read that oil is soluble in PG. This makes me think that more of the oil would have settled out if I did this test with water.

I am unsure how to proceed at this point. Suggestions are more than welcome.

Should I shake it before mixing a orange juice test batch? That way the oil that is settled out in the flavoring I made will be absorbed by the unsaturated PG/VG in the mix?
Or should I just filter off the top oil layer that settled out and use that?

The TFA absinthe is star anise essential oil mixed with PG.

I smelled the anise essential oil extract and its different than the pluid. Not only that, but it is expensive. It was around 16$ for 1/2 oz. The orange was only 5.

I don't think the brand would matter. https://www.google.com/shopping/pro...a=X&ei=fp1eUaLIFfSh4AP0mIGQDw&ved=0CFMQ8wIwAA

That looks promising.^^
I have TFA absinthe, not the export version, but it doesn't not seem the same to me at all. I think Lorann Black Licorice is much closer to the flavor. I could be wrong, but the TFA Absinthe is different somehow. Not as herbal, but more........ Don't know how to explain it. Certainly haven't been able to get it to taste very similar.

I made it at 17% with 2% ethyl maltol and for the first day it tasted EXACTLY like pluid, just without the minty and orange nuances.
After the first day the taste got weaker. I think it would be perfect at 20%.

Thats using the TFA not the oil right? The oil is way more potent than the flavoring i found.

From what I can tell, the real deal is around 15% total flavoring. This can be reduced by PG/VG by at least half and still be very strong. The TFA Absinthe, to me, isn't nearly as strong. And I feel it's missing something. I said herbal early, but I'm not sure that was correct. I think spicy should have been the word I chose, but who knows?
