What licorice flavor did you use?

I use decadent vapors absinthe as my main flavor base. I don't care if it's what MM uses or not because mine tastes exactly the same when I have it at full licorice and low citrus and even looks like it. The total flavor levels are very high, in the 40% range pg based but I think that's due to the DV flavoring being so weak and diluted with pg.

be warned, when working with this stuff just use glass since it will crack or eat through plastic when mixed with citrus.

I nailed the recipe 100% but I cut back on the licorice type flavor and add onto the citrus for my own blend (plus my own special flavors). I think it tastes much better with the anise in the background only touching the back of your throat on the exhale every now and then. Mine numbs your mouth and makes it water if you chain vape it.

I already said enough, sorry guys but it's like asking MM what his recipe is and him not disclosing it. Mine is currently being processed for the retail front so it will be kept a secret. Like I said, I have cloned Pluid but I am making my own consisting of different flavor notes so it is it's own juice. I have no interest in hurting any of MM's sales by shouting out on the net how to clone his Pluid. If he didn't care then I'm sure he would have shared his recipe himself. It won't be in any direct competition with MM (or the other Anise style flavors like Goodsense Magic Fairy) since it really is unique in it's own right.

I mention it to show you guys sitting here trying and not getting anywhere with the clone recipes that Pluid is easily copied using various and easily attainable ingredients (no extractions needed). I think people are thinking too hard here and need to get back to the basics. I did share the approximate flavor % I was using and my absinthe flavor base I use to get to where you need to be. I'm not really worried about the competition as that is how the world of business works and it forces innovation in the marketplace. Just because a juice has a licorice taste to it does not mean it's a Pluid "clone"...Honestly though, the more flavors and "clones" as you say, the better to suit all the different tastes of people. Some people absolutely HATE Pluid but LOVE Magic Fairy.

Now, the thing about MM's Pluid is that if a vendor (a large one) got a recipe to perfectly mimic every thing about Pluid, they would KILL MM's business by supplying the stock he can't even dream to handle and undercut him on prices to gain even further ground in the market. I don't really see any other type of juice out there that would have a similar type of scenerio. Yes, there are a bunch of juices in the same flavor category as Pluid (green, licorice, blah blah blah ), but none taste nearly the same or are as strong in flavor imho.

Nice attempt at trolling is all your really doing. Your doing nothing constructive in this thread but waving your " I did it " flag with zero proof you have done anything.

Pluid is easily copied "BS" Send me your "magic" sample & I'll be the judge I bet before I got through 1ml I would throw it away just as I do with my epic "pluid" failure attempts....

The OP posted a recipe. His take on Pluid. He is a well respected member of this forum and very knowledgeable on tobacco e-juice.

I've been reading this thread - thanks for the info and ideas btw - I've always thought the hint of menthol might actually be a touch of wintergreen or even teaberry. Anyone else pick that up? Or is it just me?

Yeah I didn't know how else to describe it. Not menthol but something cool. When I tried some on my finger I was thinking wintergreen. Wintergreen is a serious tank killer though.

No menthol in Pluid but we have to start at the base which is either the Anise or Absinthe flavor. I have used FA Anise but it is very weak and not tried TFA Absinthe myself yet. Has anyone tried LorAnns Anise? I picked up some Star Anise Essential Oil but man this stuff is nasty. Maybe if I further dilute it dunno but may try that. I remember the oil separation in my Pluid which is why I immediately went with Star Anise Oil.

I use WL Absinthe. I have used it in several recipes but this Remedy Black is the only one I get a Koolada moment from. I mix it with some TB and Red Licorice or TA and Cola. This Remedy Black is the only one that has that effect, at least to my taste. It couldn't be the Horehound could it?

Yes, I think it's the horehound. TFA lists horehound under the menthol category.
I get a coolness from Pluid, but I do not think its koolada. Might be wintergreen.

Toweknee, FA and TFA Absinthe (which WL is one of these) are nearly identical in taste and strength. In fact, I really can't tell them apart. I think LA Licorice is the one I will go with next. I know the flavor from past licorice juice I bought from MFS, and remember it being very similar to Pluid base, but really lacks some other flavors. It's almost like its dry, if that makes sense.

Thanks ckone I wasn't sure how much of a difference between the two there was. Let me know how that LA anise oil is. Im going to try to dilute this star anise oil I got as well.
