I recently purchased a used Woodvil and it apparently maintains the smell from the previous users vape -- unfortunately a tobacco scent that I don't care for at all.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of the smell without damaging the wood?
Clean the tube, bottle and cap, take out the o-ring too. Use Everclear or you might try vinegar. Squirt it through the tube and out the connector. Just put it in the bottle and hold the REO upside down over the sink and squonk.
You can try putting the REO in a ziploc bag with ground coffee for 24 hours. Sometimes that will remove the smell. Rice might also work.
If it were me I would get a rebuild kit. Then I would take the rm2 and disasseble it completely. Then throw all the parts in vodka for a bath

Fill a ziploc bag partially with baking soda, insert mod and door with door detached into bag, seal and let it sit for a few days. Check progress after a week, dump old baking soda, repeat until satisfied.
I've had good luck with putting things in coffee grounds for a few days to remove smells.
I'd suggest getting some mineral oil and, with a q-tip, smooth it around on the inside body of the woodvil..it might remove the tobacco smell...sounds like some of the juice got inside and on the wood and seeped into it.
Mineral oil is also great to keep the inside clean as per Mr. Rob's advice to me.
Be sure to let us know what if anything worked to get the smell out of the wood.
Do you have any pure tung oil and "000 or 000" grit steel wool? As per Mr. Rob again, take a tiny, in your case, piece of the steel wool and lightly buff where the light color is, then dab a bit of mineral oil on a q-tip and gently dab it on the spot...actualy, the whole inside of the mod, then wipe away the access.
You'll have it smelling good in no time!
