Patent laws are not enforceable against Chinese manufacturers.
Plus there's a kind of cultural difference - even WITHIN China, it's not seen as particularly bad form to copy another company's product...

Are patent laws only affective in the US, or country of origin or are they world wide patents? How is china able to get around the patent laws to clone. I don't understand the laws I guess. I always heard a patent was a license to steal.

I just dont get it. I have seen antique gun shows and how during wars one allie would sell the rights of a gun patent to another country. How can someone just rip off a patent with out litigation. Or does the stuff being cloned not have a patent?

Been wondering about this for sometime now.

Nice story in this thread!

I'm saving for one myself, but it's looking not too far off (black wrinkle, probably LP, with a brass RM2, please), and this kind of thing keeps me looking forward to joining all you ReoNauts...

:D

Jump on in train, the water is fine.

Here is some stuff to check out (really surprised no one posted a link to it yet) to SXD's (super_X_drifter) YT videos. Watch and LEARN from the OG microcoil inventor himself! Yes! It's true, the inventor of the microcoil is an avid REOnaut, and I think the micro's were originally built on/for REO's (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

I'm glad to see you have corrected the error of your ways. I've got 2 (one was second hand and modded, and one straight from Rob), and both kick serious AYuss! Best to just save up and get one that way. Also, if you don't have a BF rda to use once your REO gets in your hands, you could always just use a carto or regular atty until you get a BF RDA (the REO non LP was originally designed for those, if I'm not mistaken).

Nightowl, don't you have any 510 attys or cartos....maybe left over from some beginner system? Or.... Local B&M that sells eGos or something? These work just fine with any atty/carto with 510 threading and a hole in the bottom. It's a total shame to leave it sitting even for a day. As for the blems, we all have trouble finding the blem in them. Rob seems to be a perfectionist.....what he calls a blem is laughable.

I do have other RDA's but I thought I needed a low profile to fit normal sized RDA's on top? The well isn't too deep around the thread? It looks to me as if the edge of the raised part sits too high above the threads to put say my brass monkey on top? I was going to stop and get a cheap carto after class just so I have something to tide me over.

The cheap carto will work. Saturate it, then after that just squonk when you need to refill it. We all used attys and cartos with our REOs long before RBAs were around. It'll work fine. While you squonk to refill the carto, suck on the drip tip until you feel the pressure change. We call that blind squonking.

I still use a carto with one of my VV's. I love carts.
