Just ordered one off eBay. 11.70 shipped. Thanks LT. What do you find works best for artificial lighting? Thanks again man.

I use flash when doing artificial but usually off camera or at least bounced. Doesn't mean its the best though. I like daylight (near a window or outside) in one of those cubes...very soft light. open light. You could use most any kind of artificial continuous light for inside.. shop lights,, household lamps. IF you are using more than one light source its best if their color temperatures are the same. You'll want to match the color balance your camera is using to the temp of the lamps. Every camera has different settings to do that. Auto white balance usually doesn't do a very good job with tungsten lights. If you are using artificial lights and they aren't real bright you'll probably want to stabilize your camera some way. Tripods are convenient for doing that. Self timers are good to use when photographing still objects too. Often using inside light your exposures can run into seconds.

You can also make bounce cards from aluminum foil taped over cardboard to bounce light back in on the oposite side the main light is coming from. THat lets yoo control the shadow side. You can use cardboard to block light too. THe smaller the light source the more defined shadows are. The larger the light source the softer the shadows. You can shut off all the lights and use a flashlight to paint with light. Play with it. Have fun. Experiment.
