i like the idea of having just two mods - a cheapo mech that can get dropped or damaged without my wallet crying, and something more fancy and elegant.

i've got the first part covered with a kicked nemmy, and i've just sold a provari so i can now splurge on the second.

i've narrowed it down to these two and i'm torn. i have no experience with bottom feeding nor dripping but people seem to rave about the reo grand. on the other hand, the atmizoo infected dingo is breathtakingly attractive and supposedly their switches are some of the best on a mech in general.

again, of course this is subjective, but i'd love to hear your thoughts!

I have various mods, some tube mechanicals, and a couple Provaris. I also have 5 Reos, two of which are Grands. My vote would be for the Grand. One of the main reasons is that it will outlast anything else IMHO. It is rugged, durable, easy to clean and maintain. You can rebuild it if necessary, or send it in to Rob to have him do it, although it is very easy to do. I assume you have found the Reos forum, but if not check it out, lots of info there.

LP Reo Grand. The LP/SL Reo Grand Silver vein is my first Reo. Until today I used a ProVari/Kayfun/Aspire nautilus with rebuilt micro coil. Needless to say, I had a short repacking ceremony for my ProVari - put her back in the velvet bag I have for her and back in her box - cleaned all my other attys out and packed them up too.

The Reo is amazing. SO easy to set up! I suggest whichever color or design you get, get the LP (low profile). You can use any bottom feeding attys on it. Rob, the maker of Reos, will be adding more attys that are pre-drilled to be bottom feeding for the Reos! SL means super light, they are slotted to make the Reo a bit lighter to hold (though the solid Reos are not heavy at all.

Besides, the Reo community is the absolute best - yes I'm partial!

I just seen the atmizoo infected dingo and that thing does look very impressive. The REO Grand is more of a function over form mech but it can be made to look nearly as stunning as a classy tube mech. I prefer box mods so that makes me bias but will say that you would be happy with either option.

What type of RBA/RDA will determine your vape experience along with the build inside so just get whichever one you know you wouldnt ever get rid of.

A Reo is a mod that can be dropped and trashed - and it will still work! For years.

I found tanks to be rather awkward to avoid breaking at work, as well as irritating to maintain compared to using any Reo, which is basically upside down dripping.

In my hand now is my original black Reo Grand, which i bought, i think in 2012, and have used and taken to work every day since, dropped on concrete maybe 15 times and still keeps on going.

There are some mods that ought to be confined to home, because they are fragile, but a Reo is not such.

Well it is a question of something compact over something that will deliver the best flavor with an RDA that has the same convenience as a tank.

Personaly i'd go for the REO. Because i love the tast and vape i get from an RDA. I am conflicted as to whether i should get a REO or an Erlkönigin next.

But i will cross that bridge when i get to it:)

It's so subjective yinsen and there is a world of difference between a tube mod and bottom feeder. You already know what a tube mod is all about.

The Reo is IMO the ultimate mechanical bottom feeder. I really like my Reo Grand. I've got a Cyclone dripper modified for bottom feeding on it with dual coils and it's a fantastic vape. It's got a 6 ml bottle on board and takes 18650s. Squonk to get the wicks wet and it's a pretty much perfect vape every time.

I take the battery and bottle out every few weeks and wash the whole thing in warm running water. Takes me less than five minutes and I've got it dry and reassembled. Perfect dripping without having to drip :)

Goes into my pants pocket very nicely and loves to go for car rides with me.

You're going to have to decide which you want. Both will hold their value very well so if you decide later you should have gone the other way you'll get most of your money back if you sell it.

Good luck with it :thumb:

Something Ryedan said can make a big difference, a mech only hits well when the contacts are clean.

To keep the contacts on the REO clean takes no time at all. Pop the battery out, push the button and use a soft eraser on the contact point, wipe it with a soft towel, apply a little noalox if you desire, put the battery back in and vape on. All told it is done in under a minute.

The Roller on the other hand, is a process which involves disassembling the switch, hopefully not losing one of the near microscopic parts in the process, cleaning all the parts well, polishing the silver contact screws and pin, reassembling the switch and making sure the fire button is lined up right. After doing it monthly for a year and a half, I could get it broken down, cleaned, dried and back up and running in about 45 minutes.

If you get it back together and it won't fire and you then find the firing pin laying on the towel where you had all the parts laid out you can figure another 20-30 minutes of fumbling with said near microscopic parts before your up and running again. (Please don't ask me how I know this )

They're both fantastic mods, for different reasons. I own 2 Reo Grands and a Roller and would never part with either of them. That Dingo looks awesome. The Reo provides fresh just dripped flavor without the hassle of dripping. I've had a lot of various style attys, Genny's, dripper a, clearos and not a single one comes close to the Reo because the bottle stays out of the wick and always provides fresh juice. (Once you learn how not to over squonk). Like was mentioned, it's also incredibly easy to clean.
But the tiny Dingo is exceptional in so many ways, I hate to see you give it up. You really need to get both, I'm telling you.

...the atmizoo infected dingo is breathtakingly attractive...

Yeah, they are and it's amazing looking at the pics knowing that there are two seams (right below the switch and at the bottom). Really outstanding machining.

I have a Dingo and 2 Reo Grands and both are fantastic mods. The question you have to answer is: what is the purpose of the mod? Either will work fine at home, but if you are using it on-the-go, for long periods, get the Reo. It has the juice bottle on board and a much bigger battery. If you want something smaller, and don't mind carrying spare batteries, and dripping every 5 or 6 hits, get the Dingo.

Now, you can get extensions to make the standard (non-infected) Dingo accept a larger battery (mine is set up for a 18500 battery) but it adds to the cost. As cool as the infected Dingo looks, I would not consider one over a Reo IF it only used an 18350 battery. I'm not comfortable with a small, low current battery for dripping. And then there's the whole sub-ohm argument. As you probably know, you can get your Reo outfitted with a sub-ohm kit which allows for much higher current draw than a standard Reo.

To be honest, I never use my Dingo outside of the house, but I do take my Reo when I'm out. It's just a lot more convenient.

Hey guy!! Good to see you too.
I must inject about the cleaning of the Roller/Dingo. In all the time I've had mine, I've only thoroughly cleaned it once. The rest of the time, the normal every mod style does it. There were a few times I thought it must need a good cleaning, but come to find out, I was twisting the top on too tightly was all. Once it's backed off a hair, it works like a champ again. Just so you know in case you are tempted to get another in the future. They now have the Lab that has an easy thorough cleaning button, FYI and is also a pleasure to use. 18500.
