The State of Confusion
Im thinking its hard to get killed by a gun if there are no guns.
Theres a large difference between the amount of stories I read from the USA or anywhere about people using guns to save themselves compared to people being killed by guns.

Wolf if you lived here you would understand that we have a corrupted faction of government and media that is in bed alongside with them.

The media here reports in a very skewed way, that is they side where there is a story; the ones that emphasize race and violent crime of white on black, specifically with guns.

The media NEVER reports the stories of home invasion thugs being killed by armed home owners, nor the innocent would be victims that kill their assailants with a legally owned firearms.

The US was and is very different than the rest of the world, and it's masses do not want to be like everyone else!

No insult or offense meant.

I love and have lived in many countries including Australia, but I do not like your countries firearm laws.

You see our country is so screwed up right now it (the democratic government, and liberals) thinks disarming the public will end gun violence, and that is not the issue(s) here; the problems are that too many unregistered, illegal firearms are currently in the wrong hands, and disarming law abiding citizens would signal an all out free for all for our criminals!

I live 30 miles from Memphis, TN where there has been some really corrupt politicians in office cutting the police benefits, so much to the point that over 400 police have left the force in less than a year.

Just this last weekend there was an altercation inside a Logan' Roadhouse restaurant by a very large shopping mall in a pretty good part of the city; the teens were asked to leave the establishment and the teens took their issues / altercation into the parking lot. Several people needed medical attention and at least 10 cars were damage; it took police 3 hours to respond!

No my friend, it won't work in the US because too many bad guys have guns #1, and #2 there are not enough police to protect the innocent!

Disarming the criminals, and super severe punishment for gun crime is a far better alternative here!

It's a fine balance, but we have always had the right to bear arms here, and we are not giving that up!

I want to further comment that the media here as well as the current administration has a very defined, racially motivated agenda to continually cause division between the races.

This is NOT by accident!

A population divided is much easier to control, and take control of, and most of the people here, of all races know it!

True Americans are Americans first, and everything else comes after that!

Fact is the Indians are the only natives to this continent!

There are no Native Americans, African Americans, Euro Americans, Hispanic Americans, etc.,that is all media !

Like in your original post a gun does not know the personality of the person whose hand it is in.
Apparently people get shot with their own gun.
Bad guys wouldn't have guns if there were no guns or possibly the number of guns would be diminished with tighter laws.
Though its probably too late with the number of guns already out there.
Sadly yes very different in that your chances of being killed by a gun there are higher than any other advanced country.

True our gun laws here are still not tight enough as some poor excuse for life had one to take hostages with last year.

You are correct!

It is out of hand here and indeed too many guns are now in the hands of the criminals!

If it would have been done differently a long, long time ago, we in the US would not have this / these problems!

I do not like having to legally have a firearm with me whenever I am outside of my home, but there are too many nut jobs running around here, and way too little police to protect us!

In TN we are allowed to have our weapons with us even at work; our employers can prohibit us from bringing them into the workplace and they must be stowed in our vehicles, but we are allowed to carry essentially 24/7 with a permit.

Personally after serving in my countries military and having been in law enforcement and having had been in several international conflicts, it sucks having to be armed as I am in my homeland because we can't control crime!

I mean being an American German / Austrian I feel I can walk around in Germany or Austria, or Switzerland and NOT need to carry a personal firearm!

Did you know that as a Swiss citizen, you MUST posses at least one rifle, of course as a Swiss citizen you are also automatically in their Army!

Pretty sad I cannot go to the mall or the like and feel safe here!

and TN only has 6 million in the whole state!

So even if there is no cancer I guess this change is welcome, but I can think of better ways to make the point.
Wow tree.......very much hoping it's not cancer, but glad that it's caused such a positive impression on you. Please let us know how it goes, and very glad you shared that! Prayers coming your way.

Hopefully I will stop poppin' and start stayin'. Hugs2all.

We're all entitled to feel as we do of course, but we have a constitutional right to bear arms here, and those trying to stop that are not popular here with most. As Larry said, restricting guns will not stop the criminals, they all seem to get them. I was watching a news show earlier tonite and they had the woman on that was nearly beheaded by a muslim extremist, at an Oklahoma food factory some time back, the guy had already cut her neck and the only thing that saved her from a beheading was the fact that her boss had a weapon in his office and came out with it when she was screaming and shot the guy. She wouldn't be alive today if he hadn't had and knew how to use a weapon.

Hiya Larry!!

Now then,

Bet you didn't hear crap about that on any national or international news feed!

Anymore than the white police officer shooting an unarmed white man in Jonesboro, AR about 2 months ago!
(The media did revise the story to say the man was wielding a machete).

ergo, don't bring a machete to a gun fight!

Gawd don't get me started on the Muslim thing, I have read the Qur'an front to back several times as it was part of my military training...I cannot say anything on ECF....:-x

Facts are / is the media is a joke in this country, bought and paid for!

I actually had not heard of the Oklahoma incident...hummm wonder why , but anyway the assailant / Islamic extremist did in fact kill and behead one woman, and stabbed another one; at this point the companies COO shot and killed him, saving the second victims life.

Oklahoma Islamic Extremist Beheads Woman

ergo: if you live in the US, it is far wiser to own a gun, than need one and only have a pocket knife! :thumb:

Also in most states to legally carry a gun in the states that require a permit you have to become weapon certified and professionally trained, for your specific chosen weapon.

Anyway lets talk about something like it's almost the weekend....sex....fireworks....sex......BBQ.....SEX....oh did I say SEX! :thumb:

Dunno what stations you get your news from, but was talking to someone else about it that lives in Oklahoma and watches the news a lot and they hadn't hear about it either. I heard a lot about it on the news I watch! And yes, one woman was killed, I didn't recall if she'd been beheaded or not offhand, but that didn't really have much to do with my point, which is that it saved one woman's life. It's amazing this wasn't widely reported, and more amazing that it was called workplace violence by the FBI. Yeah don't get me started either. But ya can't, cuz I just caught up on the porch, and now I need to get off here. lol Wasn't ignoring your post, just haven't been on much the last few days, so was trying to catch up on threads. ttyl

Earth for now.
Morning REO lovers!

Sleep is such a fantastic thing and then you throw an outstanding dream or two in the mix, wow! Next you wake to your loving spouse trying as gently as possible to wake your snoring; sleep deprived .... from the overdue slumber and guess what? Another beautiful day begins, strange how our days are predetermined by our waking mood isn't it?

Today, the first day since quitting stinkies February 2014, I was acutely aware morning dew has an aroma. The only time I can remember smelling the morning dew was visiting my grandparents and I will tell you that the dew is not pleasant where sheep, chickens, rabbits and the like are involved.:?::shock:

Have a fantastic day in spite of those attempting to take you to grumpyville! REOville rocks stay here!

Sorry 'bout the empty coffee pot was my turn bring the refill in. Power went out during a storm early this morning and both my alarm and the timer on the coffee maker didn't happen as planned. Refill is over on the warmer, and whoever ate my tiger tail is in trouble...
