), heavy rain. The combination was deadly for trees that still have their canopy and are brittle from the driest summer in, like, ever. We were out of power until this morning, and yesterday I piled up all the fallen branches in our yard - about the size of a VW camper van (that's how we judge volume here on the hippy coast).
Fortunately, I had a dozen charged batteries that I did up on Friday for just such an occurrence. The wife, the cats, and I all hunkered down in the basement playing yahtzee (which the cats cheat at, of course).
