Mornin Paul!! so good to see ya in here more! We've got a new person on the porches, that works not far from me, so I'm finally gonna get to meet my first ECF person, probably next week. We're gonna meet for coffee or maybe supper after she gets off work. That'll be kewl!!

How are you doin this am??

I'm doing well! Just getting my morning caffeine fix before getting ready for work. And that's so cool meeting ECF folks. I've met 4 of them so far. And 2 at one time last year! Its a lot of fun. One friend from here lives up in Humble and I've been over there several times. We have a good time when we get together.

kewl! If y'all ever head this direction, you'll have to let me know if you have some extra time. I have to make arrangements to take my son to work to have his car to use, but would be kewl to meet sometime. Hope you have a great day at work!!

I agree! I haven't had to run to Temple in quite a long time. I was supposed to go, but the VA referred me to a private specialist locally, which was nice. But if I do end up having to go there, it would be great to meet up!

you're probably far better off with a local specialist anyhow! hehehe But you'll get down here to VA at some point I'm sure. They've had to refer my son to an area surgeon for an issue he has, and one surgery was done up in Dallas. Still didn't work.

It's a new program VA has, trying to refer some procedures locally if it's over 40 miles away, I believe. Temple is 2-1/2 hours from me, and it would have entailed at least 2 trips. So, I'm glad I didn't have to do that. And from here to Temple is such a boring drive. Not much between here and there running up 77 all the way with nothing but exciting towns like Rockville and Cameron!

oh that's kewl! I know so many end up having to take a bus with others and wait all day til everyone on the bus is seen, some come from 5 hrs away, it's horrible. Will be great if those guys can go closer to home

Houston is far closer, but I'd rather drive to Temple daily than have to go to that Houston VA. I haven't had any problems with Temple folks. I do go to the Austin VA center right by the airport and that's super nice. They just built it and has a lot of services there. That one, even though it's 65 miles from me is a very easy drive. Plus, it gives me the opportunity to stop in Bastrop for things I can't get around here.

I didn't even realize there was a VA in Houston. I knew about the Austin center, but haven't been up there.

It's really nice! Only a half mile off 71 on 183. Parking is plentiful and they have these guys running back and forth on golf carts giving rides back and forth. That's great for some of the old vets.

kewl. Will be goin to the airport in April. Will try to remember to keep an eye out for it.

No I checked in today and they aren't giving me any idea. Would sure be nice if we go a load of snow then I could go back.

Hopefully this year I can get full time. My boss is retiring. But it all depends if someone from my dept fills his spot or not.
