Thanks Alice! It is a ton of work, but no shows until after January now so a little break. He is only 15 months old so he still has some growing up to do.
Over the years I had only one heavy/long coated show dog (the rest Mastiffs and a few Rotties), a
Briard. She had an especially heavy undercoat!!!!!! Way too much work for this girl!!!!!!! It was enough work to bathe and lightly trim several Mastiffs!!!!!! Then there's carrying a bunch of huge crates, and x-pens, enough for the show site and for the motel. Last few years I carried site crates, for a friend, who had Mastiffs, so at least
three extra crates, most weekends. It's a wonder I even have any functional "back" left. We had a Mastiff sized grooming table made, lower, longer, thicker plywood, and a fold up, wood, step "stool", for center support. That was one of the least injury producing pieces of gear.
There's no way I could do that today!!!!!!! It was a blast for years!!!!!!!
Hugs, Alice
