I'm reposting this just because I can. Lily Heeler sustained an very serious eye injury a few months before picture taken (Spring 2011). She punctured her R cornea and had iris prolapse out the puncture. We treated her with DH's meds from his cataract surgery; steroid and antibacterial drops and oral antibiotic. Had testing done on it, at Vet, this summer, and it is totally healed with no damage other than some corneal clouding which vet says is mostly cosmetic. Putting drops in her eye was a real challenge.

We would have gone to vet if the prolapse and swelling hadn't responded so quickly. If we had done so it would have cost >$1K; know that from past experience. We are now getting ready to pick up pet health insurance for all (doing it today); about $120/mo, for five, and covers major medical but not routine, well check, immunizations, etc.

{edit} We can't keep collars on girls for very long as they eat each others off. They are all chipped and I'm going to tatoo inside legs, something I used to do for all. Going to wait till they have to go "down" lightly for final hip/shoulder/elbow X-rays.

My Radio Active Dog Jake Mastiff (28 mos - his head is just now starting to mature) with his two little girls Rosie and Lily ACDs (Australian Cattle Dog) (littermates 16 mos). He was the best Manny we've every had.

Not pictured Curly and Moe Labradoodles (2.5 years)

The big cat is Igor, he's a rescue, a gentle giant, he is part of the family for 2 years, being about 4.5 years now. he's still very playfull for his age and needed some cat-company :D

The little cat is Koshka, on day 2 and 3 of being a part of our family, she's 3 months there, she's 5 months now, she stir things up on a regular basis when she goes like a rocket throught the room

have also 2 rabbits, can't seem to upload the pics of them them, file too big i think.

Here's Bart. My ex took him when she left a year ago. She dispised anything or anyone who liked me so after seeing he followed me around like a puppy and practically ignored her she took him and ended up giving him to a stranger at 11 years old.

^ there ya go, right from the cat's mouth :)
That's a beautiful cat you have in your avatar. Bart was a Ragdoll. I love animals but now I feel like I don't HAVE to come home to one when I'm out. Motorcycle rally weekends are better not having to get a sitter. My new girl friend goes on them as well and we're having a blast together. She wants at least a cat so maybe I'll cave in since they can take care of themselves for a few days. A dog is out though :(

Have you ever considered snakes? Royal pythons (commonly called Ball pythons) make fantastic pets. They're friendly and sociable, exhibit personalities, and only eat once a week or so.

I'm a mom to 4 beautiful snake babies too aside from my little fluff muffin. Snakes are really nice animals to have around. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't keep walking past my boa or python cages without stopping for a minute to admire their striking beauty. They have just as much personality and individuality as a cat or dog....but just from a snakes perspective.

Sorry about losing your Bart beezer. God he's gorgeous. Its such a shame that some people have to be a**es when it comes to break ups and put the innocent ones in the middle of it.
