Sorry to hear about the loss my friend. Nice looking pair there.
We lost our oldest Lilly last Thursday. She was only 9 and 1/2 and a wonderful Golden Retriever. It happened fast though, all was good then 4 vet trips over 10 days. I miss her dearly. We should have her ashes back in a few days and they go on the book shelf right next to her best friend Daisy ... another Golden.
We have two left, a Chcololate Labradoodle and an Old English Sheep dog. This is the first time I have not had a Golden around in 41 years

I got my first one when I was 4 and have had at least one by my side (and in my bed) ever since.
Ya the bed part took the wife some time to get used to be she came around ... had to go king size though.
As much as I love dogs I don't know if I can keep going on and get any more. Maybe when the pain settles down some.
The only good thing is I know exactly what each dog is thinking and I can tell when its time. I know they thank me for the final act of mercy and each one has gone to sleep with their head on my lap. Shame we cant do that with people.
.......m now I have to go find some tissues.
Back ... thanks for the good cry I hadn't had a chance to do that. We put Lilly to sleep at Noon on Thursday and at 2pm we were driving out of town for a long weekend. Had to leave our other two dogs at home with a sitter too wondering what was going on with their friend..... it was a real mess ..... What a terrible trip but we were obligated to be there.
