Sorry to hear about the loss my friend. Nice looking pair there.

We lost our oldest Lilly last Thursday. She was only 9 and 1/2 and a wonderful Golden Retriever. It happened fast though, all was good then 4 vet trips over 10 days. I miss her dearly. We should have her ashes back in a few days and they go on the book shelf right next to her best friend Daisy ... another Golden.

We have two left, a Chcololate Labradoodle and an Old English Sheep dog. This is the first time I have not had a Golden around in 41 years :( I got my first one when I was 4 and have had at least one by my side (and in my bed) ever since.
Ya the bed part took the wife some time to get used to be she came around ... had to go king size though.

As much as I love dogs I don't know if I can keep going on and get any more. Maybe when the pain settles down some.
The only good thing is I know exactly what each dog is thinking and I can tell when its time. I know they thank me for the final act of mercy and each one has gone to sleep with their head on my lap. Shame we cant do that with people.

.......m now I have to go find some tissues.

Back ... thanks for the good cry I hadn't had a chance to do that. We put Lilly to sleep at Noon on Thursday and at 2pm we were driving out of town for a long weekend. Had to leave our other two dogs at home with a sitter too wondering what was going on with their friend..... it was a real mess ..... What a terrible trip but we were obligated to be there.
So sorry to read this, Tim. I never really know what to say...but my heart goes out to you.

How hearbreaking!! I cried for a full three months when my gorgeous little black pug went to heaven. He couldn't take the extreme heat and humidity here in Japan. I said never, never again, the pain is just too unbearable. I sobbed every time I remembered a refused extra snack or a short walky that could have been longer... Then about 6 months later hubby came home with my new naughty puppy, and finally my broken heart started healing. I am thinking of you and drying my own tears.

So sorry to hear about Lilly, Tim.
We know this day will come when we take them home for the first time, but........man, it just comes so fast. Doesn't seem fair.

Yes is does but what joy they bring while they are around. Nothing like coming home from a bad day and seeing them so excited to see you. Its funny it doesn't matter if you gone 30 minutes or 10 hours the greeting is always just as enthusiastic.

Just wanted to let you folks know that we had to put Ubu the wonder cat to sleep yesterday. She fell ill and it was very fast. She was just a great cat with tons of personality and she loved being around people. She will be greatly missed. This was Ubu two weeks ago.
