So, I've read some threads, and I think it's the firing pin causing the mis fire, because when I twist the battery sometimes, it will fire. It starts to misfire after 7-10 or so hits and I have to keep moving the battery around. I filed the firing pin, but I keep looking at my 18650 AW IMR button top, and on the top, it looks like scratches, I think my firing pin is jamming too hard into the battery to make contact. Sometimes when I fire, I see sparks, not sure if that's normal. Should I bend the firing pin upward a bit to prevent it from scratching the battery? Thanks !

Isn't that the truth Justice. It seems like a lot of folks lately, love their Reo for a week or two and then it quits working. Maybe we should include this video with our greetings to new Reonauts. I have found that putting the Noalox on the top of the battery instead works much better for me. It makes the contact under the Noalox thus no or at least very little oxidation on the firing pin. I haven't needed to file the pin since I started doing this.

This issue seems to be happening much more frequently over the past few months. It would happen occasionally in the past but not like it does now. In addition I never heard of buttons melting. Is this due to rebuildables and more people going with sub ohming? The new parts should take care of these problems hopefully.

I agree with the lower ohms being the cause of the build-up on the contact point. I sometimes use a .8 or .9 ohm coil. I notice it does give more problems over time.

Never noticed sparks or the button melting. I aim for a coil around 1-1.2 ohms.

I am thinking my next builds will get an extra wrap to reach a little higher ohms.

I have been going lower and lower in ohms, some flavors are better, some worse. I am liking the warmth of the sub ohm vape in this colder weather. I have been using .4 to.8 coils and they do require a bit more maintenance. Once you give the firing pin a good filing and noalox it does not build up as much or as fast as on an improperly maintained or neglected firing pin. The new reonauts may overlook the maintenance at first which is probably why these instances are occurring so often. I agree, we should all notify newcomers of the maintenance routine, good thing it's so easy.

What effect does sub ohm vaping have on the Woodvils, if any?

With my coils I have not noticed anything. I did look at the contact point to see if there was any evidence of sparks but there was none.

Don't smell any burning wood...............that's good right? LOL!
