You will need perfect tooling, & skills if you don't want to slip & slide your way into a new hole on that small curve.
I have a Dremel with some micro-bits. I'll use that to make a pilot hole. The caps are really soft. When I enlarged the hole in the original cap, I just spun the bit between my thumb and fore-finger. It only took a few seconds. Hopefully this will be as easy.

A good bit and a steady hand is all he needs :)
I've enlarged a couple of RM2s easily with an old bit & a Pabst Blue Ribbon without a problem, but a new pilot hole without scratching the surface is a different. The thin bit will want to bend, slip & slide. That 1st .002" is tricky.

Bah it's no biggy. Used to do it on the old A7's making them too air instead of bottom the nice thing with these is they are soft metal so very easy to get started. Stainless can be a bit tricky. A center pinch helps a lot of it's too hard.

I've about had it with the adjustable pin on the 510 on LPG #2. Thinking about getting the old style installed at The Spa.
What's wrong with the adjustable pin?

I had planned to send my oldest REO in to be upgraded. But, if the adjustable pin is that bad, maybe I'll just save the money and buy the upgraded contact/spring to put in by myself.

I really like being able to adjust it, but then I've not really used the old ones, but I"m sure several who have used both will pop in to tell you why.

I've not encountered any cons with any of my new 510's. I have 3 that came stock and 1 that I had Rob up-grad on my older Mini. I really like that I no longer have to worry about over-tightening. There was a bit of a learning curve as I'm not the handiest tool in the shed I believe you turn the Allen wrench to the Right to Raise and Left to Lower. Wise ones, please correct me if I'm wrong.
